Midnight Walks

Finally!! Here it is! I'm so so SO sorry this took so long, I hope everyone is still with me and I hope you enjoy.

Before we get started, I just want to thank KillerAnubis For letting me use this photo and I'd also like to thank him for inspiring me to write this chapter. (Let me know if you want their insta and I will dm it to you)

Cassie woke up and found Bryan was gone, he had been staying at her place while Jack's girlfriend was in town so Jack could have some alone time with her. Cassie rolls out of bed and goes downstairs to the living room where she finds Bryan watching tv.

"Hey" Cassie says softly as she sits beside Bryan.

"Hey" He smiles.

"Whatcha doing?"

"I couldn't sleep and I didn't want to bother you" Bryan says softly as he wraps his arms around Cassie.

"I normally go for a walk when I can't sleep" Cassie yawns

"I walked around the back yard a bit but if anything it made me more awake"

"More awake?"

"Yeah, like-"

"I know what you mean" Cassie giggles

Bryan smiles and kisses her cheek softly and closes his eyes, he was really relaxed he was just wide awake. "Maybe that coffee with dinner was a bad idea" he chuckles

"Probably" Cassie smiles up at him "I really enjoy you being here" She says softly

"I enjoy being here but unfortunately I can't move due to still paying on my house"

"Yeah... I know how that goes, you can only do so much..."

"And the way I had the contract made up, I can't move until it's completely paid off"

"Yeah, that's how Uncle Hank did mine except he didn't realize it"

"Yeah, I wanted mine like that so I wouldn't be tempted to sell and be stupid and lose half of what I put into it"

"Was she a fixer upper?"

"Oh yeah, but that's what I wanted, I enjoyed fixing it up and making it what I wanted" Bryan smiles

"Lucky, this was all Uncle Hank could afford at the time but I'll have it paid off in like two months"

"Damn"

"Let's just say I used to hoard money...I kinda still do" Cassie giggles

"Apparently" Bryan Chuckles.

"Let's go for a walk" Cassie smiles softly and stands up, pulling Bryan with her.

Bryan smiles and nods "I love you"

"I love you too" Cassie smiles and kisses Bryan's cheek before slipping on her slip on vans.

About 20 minutes into the walk Cassie noticed Bryan was looking at her. "What?" She asks softly "You're beautiful" Bryan smiles. "Oh shut up, I look up a hobo wearing clothes that are too small" Cassie blushes. "No, you look amazing... Really"

Cassie wasn't really sure what to say... She had her pjs on, which consisted of a cropped tank top and flannel print shorts along with an oversized flannel she stole from Hank, and although they could have been worn as everyday clothes (as some girls dress) she still felt out of place.

Cassie wasn't really used to complements either, she was bloated and still slightly overweight according to her doctor, she had stretch marks and acne, she was extremely pale with a few freckles here and there, she had to wear glasses because contacts irritated her eyes. All the things people pointed out and/or laughed at, Bryan was telling her he loved... But why? Of all things, why was Bryan so infatuated with her imperfections. Maybe it was because she didn't try to cover them up, yes she hates herself as she is but she found that when she covers up she hates herself more when she takes the "cover-up" off.

Bryan looked over at Cassie and saw her thinking hard about something but he never said anything. Bryan knew Cassie hated herself but he loved that she had stopped trying to cover up her "imperfections" he knew Cassie wasn't perfect to the world or to herself but to him, she was absolutely perfect and he has and will always tell her that, every chance he gets.

"Hey" Bryan says softly, pulling Cassie out of her thoughts "Whatcha thinking so hard about?" He asks "You" Cassie smiles "Well us" "Do enlighten me" Bryan smiles "You still love me after seeing and hearing everything wrong with me... You still want to be with me even though I'm not like every other skinny girl with perfect skin, and I am by no means hating them because they are gorgeous but I'm tubby and I have acne and stretch marks and cellulite and my teeth aren't an unnatural shade of white, and not all of them are straight and I have nightmares... God do I have nightmares and yet here you are, walking down my street with me telling me you love me" Cassie says slightly catching Bryan off guard, he stops under a street light and turns her to look at him. "Cassie... You are perfect, just the way you are... I know it's cliché but it's true. I don't love you for how you look, I love you for who you are, you are gorgeous inside and out, from how you look to your personality, to your voice and so much more, every "blemish" whether it be a scar or acne, stretch marks, even stained or crooked teeth, it's perfect, it tells a story... Because with you, what you see is what you get and you're kind loving, giving "I'll do anything for anyone" personality toos everything off and I couldn't ask for anything more. I love you and everything about you" Bryan says, finishing with a soft smile. Cassie wasn't sure what to do or say, she just looked up at Bryan. "Say something, please" Bryan whisper but Cassie never said anything, she just leaned forward and kissed Bryan which he happily returns.

After about an hour of aimlessly walking up and down the street, Bryan and Cassie return to Cassie's house, Bryan took his shoes and his shirt off and flopped down on the couch. "Come on B, let's get a drink of water and go back to bed" Cassie says softly, Bryan nods and slowly gets up and goes into the kitchen, he grabs two bottles of water and when he comes back he picks Cassie up and carries her upstairs.

"You know, I can walk" Cassie giggles. "I am aware but this is more fun" Bryan smirks as he sits Cassie on the bed, then flops down beside her, Cassie smiles softly and grabs a water from Bryan and takes a drink, she then sets the water on the side table and lays down, Bryan follows in suit.

The couple falls asleep peacefully in each other's arms.
