Cassie's Past

So sorry this one took so long I was, I've been trying to get some prewritten chapters but due to some personal stuff, I've been a bit behind... But here's the next chapter! Enjoy

Cassie jolts awake, she looks around and sees her and Bryan are still on the couch, sighing in relief she laid her head back down on Bryan's chest and let's herself slowly fall back to sleep, only to have yet another nightmare.
Bryan wakes up this time and quickly takes notice and tries his hardest to wake her up, at first she didn't budge but after a few more shakes and Bryan calling out to her, she yet again, jolts awake and grabs onto Bryan, sobbing.

"Shhh, you're okay, I'm right here" Bryan coos, hoping it would calm her down. Cassie continued to sob. "Hey, I'm right here Baby, calm down, I got you"

After a bit, Cassie finally calmed down and looked up at Bryan "I think I'm ready to talk" She says quietly. "Don't force yourself Baby" Bryan says softly, holding her closer.

"I met my ex in high school... He was really sweet at first... but that all changed when we got a place together"

FLASHBACK

Finally having settled into their new apartment, Cassie had been cleaning all week, she had to make sure the apartment was almost sparkling, she cleaned while Jake was working, Since they had been moving Hank had let Cassie have a couple of weeks off to get settled in. Today just so happened to be laundry day, Cassie had been working her butt off and was almost finished, all she had to do was fold two baskets of laundry. Cassie had more than enough time to do it before Jake got home so she sat down to take a break for a bit.

Before she knew it, she was waking up to Hank calling her, she looked at the time and her stomach tied in knots. She quickly gets up, answers her phone and starts folding laundry.

(C) "Hey Uncle Hank"

(H) "Hey kiddo, how's settling in?"

(C) "Actually we're pretty well settled in, I've been trying to get laundry done all day before whatever dirty laundry we had, we just threw in trash bags"

(H) "Sweetheart, so you really think this was the smartest move? I mean you've only been with him a month"

(C) "Honestly no... I don't think it was but it feels right... if that makes sense"

(H) "Not really just be careful Baby"

(C) "I will Uncle Hank, I promise"

(H) "Okay sweetheart"

(C) "How have you and Connor been?"

(H) "Good, we got a few days off, we was gonna come see you today but we decided to stay home... we uh... we didn't sleep last night... at all"

(C) "Yeah... I don't wanna hear anymore on that... I'll see if I can come see go tomorrow... It's been hella crazy, I have to unpack the pantry too but I figure that won't take long so I can do it tonight and free up tomorrow"

(H) "Okay, I guess we'll see you tomorrow then... You wanna meet somewhere?"

(C) "Nope, just make sure there's pizza"
