The Next Morning: "I got you a gift"

I'm back!!! There will be slow updates on this but I'm back. After some time off I feel a lot better and I'm ready to get back into writing.

Cassie's P.O.V

Waking up I roll over and find Bryan gone, sighing I gets up and makes my way downstairs to start my day and get ready for work, until I realized it was Saturday and the diner was closed. I goes into the kitchen and couldn't help but to smile.

Earlier this morning

Bryan woke up a great deal earlier than normal, any other time he would have gone back to sleep but today he decided to get up.

He went out to get new clothes from his car before showering and getting dressed.

He then went into the living room and saw someone he didn't expect to see.

"G-good morning sir" He says politely to Hank, who had drove around the block last night and came back...

"Good morning, I hadn't realized you stayed the night" Hank says acting as though he was oblivious to everything

"Yeah, nothing happened though, she asked me to stay is all"

Hank nods and sits at the table and watches Bryan's every move.

"Is it okay if I ask why you're here?" Bryan asks politely

"Oh, Cassie, myself and Connor normally go for a run on Saturday mornings" Hank says honestly.

Bryan nods and continues cooking breakfast.

"Where you from?" Hank asks

"Salt Lake City Utah" Bryan replies

"What are you doing in Detroit?"

"I live here... I came here with my now ex wife and we stayed a few days and then after we divorced I moved here"

"Do we need to worry about this ex?"

"No sir, her and I are still really good friends, we just realized we were better as friends"

Cassie walks into the kitchen and smirks "Are you interrogating my boyfriend?" She asks just to see their reactions.

"Boyfriend?" Both men asks softly.

Cassie blushed deeply having not thought the whole thing out. "I- I mean if you want to be" She says softly looking to Bryan.

Hank took this cue to leave the room...

"I would like to be... But I feel we need to take it slow for now and make sure this is gonna work out." Bryan smiles and steps a little closer

"Sooo Yes but no?"

"Yes? Wait... No..." Bryan says, now slightly confused

Cassie giggles softly and looks up at him "You want to date but not right yet"

"Yeah, and if this doesn't work out... Just know that I will always be here for you" Bryan smiles softly

"Thank you, that means a lot" Cassie smiles as tears fill her eyes, not really used to this kind of thing.

Bryan smiles and pulls Cassie into a hug and gently kisses her head wanting so bad to tell her how much he loves her but to didn't want to break his promise to Jack anymore than he already had...

"Oh, I got you something. Sit" Bryan smiles and goes into the living room.

Cassie sits at the table and waits awkwardly.
