I sat on the balcony sipping warm coffee and watching the pretty explosion of colours in the sky.

My first year at Swansea University had finally come to an end. I'd be lying if I said I was happy for that ending. I didn't want an ending.

This year was absolute havoc to say the least. But at least I got to spend it with the most important person in my life, Emily.

I met tons of new people. I started new relationships. The good happened, but so did the terrible. The inevitable.

But good things came out of the bad and at the end of the day that was what mattered the most.

I met the absolute love of my life and I wouldn't change that for the world. The second I saw him in that first conference when I was running late and tripped down the steps in a fluster. He helped me up swiftly and laughed at me introducing himself.

"Are you alright there?" His voice was melodic to my ears as I glanced up, seeing him for the first time. His light brown hair slicked to the side smartly and his honey brown eyes staring into mine. I got lost in them so easily.

"Hello?" his voice echoed as I was brought back to reality.

"Sorry, what did you say?" I stuttered tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, He laughed at me.

"I asked if you were okay" He repeated for me. I nodded in response.

"Well I'm professor Blake. But you can call me Luke" and thats when I knew he was a special one.

And although marrying your University professor isn't ideal, you couldn't argue with power as strong as love. To have somebody that was there for you no matter what, through thick and thin, saw you at your worst and best, confided in you, believed in you and loved you when you needed it the most. Never let you forget that you had a purpose in this world.

I never in a million years thought I could get that, but I did and and it was him. It was always him.

Things weren't always going to be perfect. In this year some scary things had happened and sadly those hurdles still existed. But as long as Emily and Luke and even Sara were by my side I knew we could overcome it.

It would all be okay, as long as I had them. My true family. My home sweet home.
