Present time
Rumlow threw you down against a chair in the conditioning room. “Prep her,” he ordered to the doctors surrounding you as he quickly tied your restraints. You kicked and moved so that he couldn’t get you tied down. He slapped you hard across the face giving him a long enough window to tighten the rest of your restraints.
“She has been out of Kryo too long, wiping her is not an option,” one of the doctors tried explaining to Rumlow.
“I said prep her for conditioning, not a wipe,” Rumlow explained angrily, “these orders come from Secretary Pierce himself.
The doctors nodded and began injecting fluids into your body. “Hold that order,” a voice called, it was Pierce entering the room. You mind was getting groggy as the serums started to take effect. “I want information out of her first, consider this a training exercise in interrogation for your men Rumlow,” Pierce instructed. Rumlow nodded with a smile and left the room.
“Sir,” one of the doctors interrupted, “we have already began the process, her mind will not remember things in this state.”
“Then reverse the process, I want her conscious for this,” he said menacingly. The doctor tried to argue but was getting nowhere with the Secretary. “Actually let’s make this extra special,” he interrupted turning to his men, “secure Soldier and bring him here to watch.”
Rumlow and the other soldiers returned with Soldier still kicking and screaming but he was secured by a dozen men. “Let him see her,” Pierce said instructing the men to let him go a little. Ropes were still tied around Soldier for precaution but he was allowed enough room to run up to you strapped in the chair.
“Shadow,” he whispered taking your head in his hands. Your mind was still groggy and you had little muscle control, so your head laid limp in his hands but your eyes met his. You opened your mouth to say something but couldn’t find the muscles to do so. “Shadow,” he whispered again still holding your head in his hands, his voice was laced with concern.
“What have you done to her,” he hissed at Pierce still holding you.
“She was prepared for re-conditioning, but I thought the agents could practice their interrogation skills on her before she is reconditioned,” Pierce explained.
Soldier knew what interrogation skills meant and stood in between Shadow and the others, “you cannot do that to her, not in this state,” Soldier said.
“Do not worry Soldier, the doctors are reversing the medicine soon and she will be fully awake before they begin,” Pierce explained with a smile, “and you will watch the whole time.”
Soldier tried pulling on his restraints to no avail. He turned back to you and you were able to give him a weak smile which he returned. “I….you,” you were able to make out as your feeling slowly came back to you.
“I love you too,” Soldier whispered in understanding.
Pierce let Soldier hold you for a few more minutes until he nodded to the other agents, “that’s enough, begin interrogation.” Soldier was pulled from your side as he kept trying to comfort you with sweet words, but he was now out of reach and he had to watch what was about to transpire.
