My phone buzzed on the kitchen counter pulling me away from my large computer screen. I didn't have a living room, it was a large studio where I could work on editing. Covid rules applied to all industries and if we wanted to keep working we had to do it as much as possible from home.
I didn't check my phone, not expecting anyone to talk to me at that time. I'm super busy finishing the editing of the disbanding clip for Spectrum. I really enjoyed working with these guys, they were hard working, talented and kind. Such a shame Covid destroyed their career so early... Well, life is life. Everything happens for a reason. I hope they still find ways to accomplish their dreams.
I sighed as my phone buzzed loudly again. Argh...
"I'm busy!" I called out to my phone as if it could hear me. "Hey Siri, play Light it up by Spectrum!" I began dancing randomly as I made my way to the kitchen and poured myself a cup of tea. Only once I had done that I cared to look at my phone's notification. The clock showed 7:30 am.
70 new messages.
"Seriously? Who can this be?" I unlocked my screen and checked those messages.
Ha...the team's groupchat....
I quickly read, gathering that they were all up, and getting ready to go to Big Hit today. I should get dressed.
Editing in pyjamas is more comfortable but I'm leaving the apartment in less than 30 minutes. I can't be late on the first day, or ever.
I didn't bother replying to my team's text and made my way to the shower. A warm shower is always nice to start the day.
I picked casual clothes, my sunglasses, converses and my bag before heading out of the building. I felt cool and cheerful today. New job. New place. New challenges.

I let out a happy sigh as I eyed the tall building which I had reached by walking 15 minutes.
Being so close sure was comfortable.
The sun was making a shy appearance. I recognised my British teammate, John, aka Johnny, the only European member of our team, three years older than me. He waved at me and I smiled broadly, nodding. I didn't bow with him, first we have been working together for 5 years, second, he's European and it just weirded him out.
"Ahhh, how come you never answer your texts?" He asked in a perfect Korean, although missing honorifics, but I didn't care much when I was with him.
"I'm not as much a geek as you are my friend."
"Right. I bet you were editing." He muttered in English.
"I can speak English, Johnny..." his playful glare got me to chuckle lightly. Our little interactions were cut short by the rest of the team's arrival. They had most of the equipment.
"Shall we go in? We have an appointment with Mr Bang Si-hyuk in two minutes.
They all nodded and they followed me. They were all nervous to work in such a crazily big and famous company. I walked in with confidence and followed the instructions given by the CEO of Big Hit.
