Like rain, I fell for you

Part 14 * Birthday-2*

So there she goes, ready to meet Can and hopefully spend a beautiful day with him and forget about the rest of the world.
"Hey beautiful. Come on in" says Can as Demet makes her way towards the car.
"Hey Can. What's up" says she as he leans in to give her a bear hug
"Happy birthday. I wish you celebrate eternally" says Can as Demet responds to his hug and enjoys the way his big warm hands embrace her and make her feel safe.
"Thank you Can. Where are we going?" She asks as he starts driving
"It's a surprise. But get ready because I am going to give you a lot of those today"..
So they went on with the road, leading them nowhere and everywhere.. actually, Can knew what Demet wanted and what was it that she liked and that's why he wanted to make this day worth it and perhaps give her the best birthday ever..
They stopped on a road that looked unfamiliar to Demet, but very familiar to Can... it was a place where all the walls were painted.. it had different landscapes, painted faces and even graffiti with all kinds of quotes and names on it.. even Can's name was written in those walls.. Demet was all in awe when she saw those beautiful paintings of artists that maybe never had the chance to prove that they were worth something.. she loved the way Can would explain her in details the stories of those artists that spend nights and days drawing in those walls because that way they would escape reality.. she loved it very much.. but how couldn't she when Can knows exactly what Demet is into and he is proving it..
So after, he took her to a park nearby that also has a river on it and she was so excited about it because surprisingly, she never really visited this park, so she was in awe when she saw the beautiful view this part of the town offered.
"So, do you like your birthday so far"?
"Are you kidding me? It's almost the best birthday ever!" Can smiled, being proud that he was the reason she was so happy.
"Come on, let's climb this tree" says Can as he takes her by the hand and leads her to a big tree where you could easily climb on and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the entire park.
"Can, there is no way I'm climbing that tree. It's been forever since I last climbed a tree!"
"Well, today is your day because you are about to climb that tree and forget all of your problems". And so he starts by taking her into his arms and helping her climb, always enjoying the few second she gets to have her in his arms..
"Well, you were right. It's impossible to think about the problems from up here"..
"Yeah, I know right? But, it's sad that after all you still have to go down and get back to reality.."
"Mhmm.. that's bad"..
"It's just I can't believe it. How come you didn't climb a tree since when you were 7 years old?"..
"No" .. says Demet as she laughs.. "and frankly a tree this tall, never!"..
"Well, we should definitely consider making a tree house then".. says Can as they lock their eyes with each other and just stay like that for a few minutes until Demet breaks the silence..
"It's getting hot right?"..
"It is?".. says Can his eyes never leaving hers, not for a little bit..
"Yes, a lot. Well I would put my feet on that river because it really is getting hotter by the second"..
"Really? Let's go" says Can as he gets excited about it..
"No, are you crazy. I was just saying it, it's not that I am really going to put my feet on that water "..
"But why not, come on. Let's do it! We too deserve to have some fun don't you think?"..
"Okay, fine, you convinced me!"..
And so they go down and into the river.. and just stay there, her head resting on his shoulder and his hand caressing her hair.. neither one of them wanting to leave and just enjoying this beautiful moment they are sharing with each other..
It's starting to get darker and as much as Demet didn't want to go, she knew she had to..
"Can, it's getting dark.. I think we should go"..
"Yeah right? We should.. but before we do, I invite you to take a drink at a not-so-famous bar that it's right across the street".. she should've but she couldn't resist him..
"Yeah, why not? Let's go!"..
They enter the bar that looks more like a nightclub or like a neighborhood place where people come and enjoy a good beer after a long day at work..
"Hello. Two beers please"..
"Coming right up".. says the waiter as they sit on a place while Can greets some of his old friends together with Demet.. so as they drink the beer, the music was so loud they could barely understand each other when a reggae song comes up that Can loves to dance to, he asked Demet to dance with him..
"Ohh, I love this song. Come on please, let's go dance.." says Can as he literally takes her hand and leads her to the middle of the floor without letting her hesitate or say anything..
As they start dancing, they are almost hugging and the tension between the two of them is so huge that they don't dare look at each other's eyes because they both know they will break their rules..
Can then pulls his head from her shoulder and started caressing her hair and cheeks and lips and everything he could while they kept dancing slowly, moving to the music and their lips almost touching while the heat in their faces it's noticeable and their heart rates are faster than ever..
"Please.. ask me to kiss you Demet"... says Can as Demet can't help herself but stare at him and feeling the same need as him but hesitating as Can continues..
"It's just that I want to kiss you, but I would be breaking the promise I gave you, and I don't want to, but please, please, I need you to ask me to kiss you".. says Can as he leans forward and touches her neck with his lips, waiting impatiently for her answer.. while Demet closes her eyes feeling the heat on her stomach and takes his head so they face eye to eye, lips only millimeters away from each others, hands wrapped around their bodies.. and she goes..
