Splinter Way

Chapter 35

Jack and the others watched in horror as the approaching monster rampaged, crashing through the stairs in front of them. Jack and the others began running. Hannah, Avery, Lauren, and Hayden ran into the right area, while Drista, Jack, Charlotte and Lani split off into the mid section, where the monster followed. It was able to squeeze in and fit the mid section, like a mold.

"Shit! Shit shit shit!" Jack screamed, as the monster slowly caught up to Charlotte. It was going fast. She tripped, which was the final nail in the coffin. At least he thought.

Suddenly he heard an alarm, and the sprinklers went off. Water sprayed everywhere, closing there field of view. The monster began sizzling and fading into the drains.

"What just happened?" Drista spoke in disbelief, turning to the others.

"Water." Lani answered, watching the last remains sink below there feet.

"Does it kill it?" Lauren asked. Hayden, Avery, Lauren and Hannah appeared from the corner.

"It doesn't matter. There a vent right there. Let's get out." Jack was heaved over, then Lani, Charlotte, Drista, Hannah, Avery, and Hayden, who arrived near flashing lights and screaming sirens. Jack was quick to run over. "Huh? Who is that-" His eyes widened in shock.

"Oh shit. It's Crew. He's- he's dead." Drista admitted, beginning to feel heavy.

"He's gone." Jack turned to Lani. "You had me believing this whole time he was alive. You pointed at pictures of him, you lead me to this moment. You lied." He ran off to his house in the distance as Crews body was lowered into an ambulance.

"I knew Lani was bad news." Hannah scoffed running to her house too.

"Sister." Avery warned, following after Hannah to there house.

"I need to get home." Hayden said, picking up his stuff and looking at Lani.

"I'll take her back." Charlotte said, taking Lani with her.

"Bye." Drista said as she watched the ambulance drive off as people cleared the area.

"Cya." With that, Charlotte ran off into the distance leaving Drista in shock.
