Hello, lovelies!

Welcome to Week 51 at BUBC.

Before we get to this week's pairs, I have a couple of IMPORTANT announcements.

After the 1-Year Anniversary (from Week 53 onwards), BUBC will go through some changes.

The first being that from now on, new members (as well as members who have gone on hiatus for more than a month) will have a trial assignment in order to join the club. This is in hopes of guaranteeing that the new members have the right attitude towards giving feedback :)

The second big change is that the members will be grouped into 3 stages. The more experienced members will go together. The intermediate members will go together, and the new members will go together.

Please understand, that this decision is in hopes I'll reduce my workload. There's a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes to make sure everyone gets the most out of their critiques. I'm thinking this'll make the process of setting up the pairs easier and less time-consuming :)

I'd also like for the members to--eventually--have their whole books reviewed. The groups will hopefully guarantee you're getting consistently good feedback, and it'll give you guys something to work towards.

The groups are as follows:

1. Ye Old Bookworms
These members meet the following requirements:
- Have completed 10+ assignments
- Critiques are usually 200+ words
- Try to point out the pros and cons in their partners writing (or at least are more descriptive of what they liked)
- Leaves good  feedback in the comment section of the chapters, AS WELL as the question of the week

2. The Bookworm Interns
These members meet the following requirements:
- Have completed 5+ assignments
- Critiques are usually 100+ words
- Try to point out the pros and cons in their partners writing (or at least are more descriptive of what they liked)
- Leaves good feedback in the comment section of the chapters, AS WELL as the question of the week.

3. The Bookworm Bebes
-New members who have done less than 5 assignments.
- Members who usually have less than 100 words in their critiques

To go up in the stages, you'll have to request it via DM to me (liann_aixa) and I will assess your assignment that week and then decide whether or not to move you up.

I will be grouping the existing members according to their performance these last few weeks.
So, be sure to work hard this week to be paired with the higher groups.

I'll be trying this out for a few weeks to see if it works out as I predict.

Please confirm you've read this by leaving a comment of a word starting with J, here.

As always, please let me know your thoughts on this. I'd like to hear your input :)

I'm really excited to start this new project in BUBC. Hopefully, these changes will work for the better.

That's enough info, let's get to . . .

The question will be more general so I can see more of an overall critique.
Try your best! As long as you're thoughtful and honest with your critiques, it shows :D

Question of the Week:

What do you think is your partner's strong point? (Their dialogue, imagery, characterization, etc.)

On the other hand, what do you think is their weak point? (Grammar, pacing, dialogue, etc.)

Remember that after reading and commenting on the 3 chapters of your fellow bookworm, you have to let me know you're finished, in the comment section of THIS chapter.

And answer the question of the week.

That's all for this week.

See ya next Monday!
