Question of the Week:
On a scale of 1-10 (Yes, I love scales xD), rate the pacing of your partner's book.
Does the plot pacing keep you invested in the story throughout the three chapters? Is the pacing of the chapters themselves well done? Did you feel like your attention dwindled during any scenes? Do you think the pacing could be improved in some parts? Where and how?
This week is all about pacing! The pace of a story is the speed at which your plot develops throughout your chapters. Strong, consistent pacing will keep your readers invested from page to page, chapter to chapter, start to finish.
Slow-pacing is good, fast-paced stories are also great! It's more a matter of your writing style and the reader's preference whether they like one more than the other.
How do you know you have strong pacing then?
Whether your story is a slow-burning romance or a fast-paced action, you need structure. The chapters need to be leading towards something and further the plot. If nothing particular happens in a chapter, your pacing has fallen flat and you have fallen into a dreaded zone called *whispers* the filler chapter. Dun dun duuuun.Still not sure what makes strong pacing?
Don't worry! I got your back. I'll leave this link in the comments where you can learn all about story pacing and how to make sure it's at its best! Reading this will open your eyes to a whole new side of storytelling. Learn about pacing, peeps <3https://www.well-storied.com/blog/how-to-create-strong-pacing-for-your-story

Lastly, I'm kind of sad about 25% of you didn't complete last week's assignment on time
>.<
I want to give monthly acknowledgments and prizes as Bookworm of the Month, but I want to make sure it's fair to you guys and motivates you to keep you going.
For me, giving critiques has improved my writing immensely. Learning to recognize mistakes (or virtues) in other's writing will help you to recognize when you've made mistakes in your own. So, that's why I make Bookworm of the Month about reading the three chapters of a member's story!BUT, I wanted to ask, if y'all are okay with that OR if you'd like to change the monthly reward to something else. If so, what are your suggestions? I'm all ears. This is about you guys <3

Remember that after reading and commenting on the 3 chapters of your fellow bookworm, you have to let me know you're finished, in the comment section of THIS chapter. And answer the question of the week.
Until next Sunday, bookworms!
