Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to Week 7 at BUBC!

First of all, thanks for all your thoughts and feedback on Bookworm of the Month.
I'm glad you're all so open-minded and willing to speak your ideas. That's the sort of vibes I'd always like to have here. *group hug*

Sooo, we'll be keeping the monthly prize of reading the three chapters of one member's book! <3The only change is that, in cases where the book has longer chapters, I'll be giving an extended deadline

The only change is that, in cases where the book has longer chapters, I'll be giving an extended deadline. I'll be notifying you guys if that's the case.

Question of the Week:

What do you think of your partner's blurb?
Did it catch your interest?
Was it a good length? Too long or too short?
Does it give you a strong sense of the genre? Or is it misleading?
What do you think could be improved, if anything?

Blurbs . . . *sighs*

The blurb is a big part of the first impression the reader has of your story. It needs to be catchy, dynamic, and have a hook. A reader needs to know why they should be reading your story before they click on that "Start Reading" button.

For me, one of the most frustrating things about them is trying to fit a behemoth of a plot into 100-200 words. Sometimes you're unsure if it's too revealing or not revealing enough.
Blurbs are a pain, dudes.

BUT! Don't fret, there's a simple formula for a good blurb.

Here's 4 parts that every blurb should have:
1. Introduce your main characters.
2. Establish your primary conflict.
3. Establish the stakes at hand.
4. Show the reader why this book is for them.

If you'd like to learn more about each of these bullet points and go more in-depth into the makings of a super-duper blurb, you can read more in the following link:

(As always, I'll add it in the comments for copy/pasting)

Remember that after reading and commenting on the 3 chapters of your fellow bookworm, you have to let me know you're finished, in the comment section of THIS chapter.

And answer the question of the week.

Until next Sunday, bookworms!
