A/N
Hey everyone! Considering I had many comments about that, I just wanted to set something straight. Chloe as we all know is Christian. And so am I. But not everything that she or her parents believe means that this is how it should be and that is the 'right thing'. Tbh I do exactly the opposite: P But that doesn't mean I am not Christian or that I don't believe in God. I just don't agree with everything the bible says. And If Ryder makes a bad comment about her religious don't get offended because that's not my goal - to offend you i mean. My goal is to make my characters as realistic as I can.

CHAPTER 13 - THAT FOR SURE AIN'T SUGAR
My day started off with a -secret- wink from Ryder.
Well those were ten words I'd never thought I'd say.
I rolled my eyes at him but couldn't help but -secretly - smile at him. I walked towards my locker where Annabelle was waiting for me... reading the bible. "Homework" from priest Lucas maybe?
"Hey?" I half asked-said looking at her curiously.
She shook her head in a "don't ask" kind of way. "Long story, not important. Tell me about last night." She said meaning the park.
I shrugged. "It was fun."
"That's it?" She asked. "Just 'fun'? Really? Oh come on Chloe give me the dirty details." She raised her eyebrows suggestively.
I made a disgusting face at her pervert mind. "Okay first; Ew you're holding the bible show some dignity. And secondly; Nothing happened." Not that I wanted something to happen. Not that something could happen.
"So you didn't kiss."
My face flashed at the mention of the word. 'How juvenile of me', I know. "N-no of course not!"
"Why not? You like him."
"I don't like him." I said immediately but came out the wrong way. "I mean I do like him as a person, well only sometimes because he can be a jerk, but also as a friend as well. He's... nice." I lied. Ryder West was anything but 'nice' and Annabelle knew that as well.
She looked at me blankly. "Oh come on we both know that Ryder West and 'nice' don't go together in a sentence. And you are such a liar! You totally like him but you are a total prude to admit something like that."
"I a-am not." I stammered, defending myself even though I knew it was true. I really was a prude. "W-we a-are just.... I mean I never... he never..." I struggled to form a sentence. "We are friends." I said at least.
She looked at me amused. "Does Ryder know that?"
I scoffed "of course he knows that!"
She laughed. "If you think Ryder just wants you to be his 'friend' you are mistaken big time Chloe."
I stared at her confused. "What do you mean?"
She sighed, looking fed up with my...'prudeness' "Chloe... you are boring me." She said rolling her eyes and got inside the classroom.
Well that was rude.
At Lunchtime Annabelle and I headed like always to the cafeteria. Today thankfully was "vegetable" day, not that I was a vegetarian or anything, I loved meat, but everything else just didn't seemed what they were supposed to be.
Our school could afford brand new computers and chemistry labs but decent, eatable food? No way.
We sat down in one of the round cafeteria tables and I began eating while Annabelle, too excited to eat, didn't waste any time to inform me what was going in "Hollywood". Nothing new really. A celebrity couple broke up, a certain dress send all the internet in a frenzy since others could see it black and blue while others supported that it was gold and white -when it was really just black and blue- and apparently Kim Kardashian dyed her hair blonde making everyone compare her to Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. At the mention of Kim Kardashian I remembered when Ryder and I had joked about her on the beach, before school started and unconsciously I looked around the cafeteria not really knowing what I was searching for. Or who. Actually... I did.
