~2 months later~

I lugged my trunk into the car as my mother and father seated themselves in the front of the car. We headed on way to kings cross station and as we walked in my mother quickly spotted Remus walking ahead of us alone. His father used to see him off before he passed away and his mother was in no condition to drop him off.

"Remus!" My mother called out. He turned around and gave us a sheepish smiled and we walked up to him and began to chat. Yes we'd seen each other every day but my mother hadn't boy did she love him. "Ah yes you boys are certainly turning into young men."My mother said patting his shoulder and looking at me. "Mia, let the boys get to their 7th year before getting melancholic." My father said and we laughed.

When we were appoaching platform 9 we had seen Arthur Weasley holding the cart for 4 trunks as Amos and Sirius had been held by their collars by a security guard. Diana had been trying to get them out of whatever trouble they got into but was failing. Then as my mother noticed, almost as if a switch was flipped. Diana gained charm, she flirted with the old man until his grip loosened on her brother and friend.

She reached her hand up to play with his tie, this was Arthur's cue- along with Amos' and Sirius' cue to run. As they entered platform 9 3/4, Diana had thrown the man's tie over his shoulder and ran. "I've always liked that girl." My father said. "Reminds me of myself." My mother added and Remus laughed.

As we entered platform 9 3/4 Remus leaned into my ear and said, "So mommy issues?" And I nudged him. My mother gave Remus and I a hug and my father stopped pushing the cart with Remus and I's trunks to pat us on the shoulder. He put them with the other trunks and then my parents left.

"What the bloody hell was that for Mooney?" I asked him boarding the Hogwarts express. "I'm sorry are we not going to discuss what you told me this summer?" He asked and led the way to our regular compartment. "We are going to forget it." I said and he shook his head. "We'll see, Prongs." He said and entered the compartment,

We walked in to see Peter chanting words of encouragement to Diana as she pinned and straddled Sirius. "Give. Me. Back. My. Tie." Diana said struggling against him and then as he laughed she stopped moving and jumped off of him. "You're disgusting, Padfoot." She said getting up and sitting across from Peter, close to where Remus was standing. "And you're wearing a skirt." Sirius added sitting next to Peter, crossing his legs.

"Oh hello, Mooney, Prongs." She said and smiled towards us. "So what did we miss?" Remus asked taking a seat next to the window. I took the seat between Remus and Diana. "Sirius won't give me my tie. As you can see I'm already wearing my uniform because changing is a pain in the ass." She said while looking Remus in the eyes.

"We'll give her back her tie, pads." I said looking away from Diana. "No, let me enjoy the moments she looks like a gryffindor so that I didn't break my rule." Sirius said and she groaned. "You two didn't." Peter said in disbelief. "I wish we didn't." Diana muttered.

Sirius had a rule that he would never date, snog, or shag any slytherin girls. He broke his rule for Diana this summer and it's now one of her regrets. "The day I look best in red will be the day a piece of me dies." She said and laughed and Sirius gave her back her tie. "Thank you now I have to see Lily and Marlene." My heart skipped a beat as it did normal but then she said and then put her hand on my knee, patting it.

As she exited the door, "I hate to see her go but I love to watch her leave." Sirius said. "You are disgusting, she's our friend not one of your fucks." Remus said. "She could've been, best shag I've had." Sirius said staring out the window. "I'd like to not think about her in bed." Peter chipped in. Why am I invested as to how she is in bed- these feelings are just confusion. Lily is the girl I love-

"5 times, Mooney." Sirius said and it snapped me away from my thoughts. "She made you- 5 bloody times?!" Peter asked and Remus looked uncomfortable. "Can we move on from this?" I asked and eventually I fell asleep. I woke up from my nap to see Remus shaking me awake.

I put my glasses back on walked out to the carriages with Remus, Sirius, and Peter. Lily and Marlene seemed to be without the lead in their trio as they sat in a carriage with Dorcus and across from them the black sisters. "Where's Ranger?" I asked looking around again. "Huh maybe she got on a carriage earlier." Peter said and I nodded.

"Or she's sitting next to Lucius Malfoy and Severus Snape with their arms and hands around her." Remus said and faced the carriage behind us. I turned my head to see Lucius Malfoy' arm around her shoulders and on her other side Snivillus with his hand on her upper inner thigh. They were smirking at her and she was laughing at whatever they just said.

Across from them was Regulus, Nathaniel Nott, Marius Flint, and Finneas Flint. She threw her head back laughing and Severus whispered something in her ear. Then she turned to see me and smiled but then she turned back.

"Oh my god she's joining a harem." Remus said as a joke and Sirius laughed, "Lucky them." He said and nudged Peter. I was practically boiling and bubbling over with anger. Why does he get to touch her like? Why does she like it? Why is she so lax when I saw her? Does she enjoy torturing me? Well the answer to that is probably yes.

Not soon enough did we reach the castle but we did. My gaze never left her figure. Snivillus helped her jump down from the carriage and she laughed with him, his arm around her. "Prongs, doesn't Evans look lovely?" Sirius asked me. "Yeah Yeah of course she always does." I answered still looking at Diana.

"And can you believe the outrageous haircut?" Peter asked me. "Yes I find it rather lovely." I responded. Why is she leaning into him like that? Does she like him? Is she finally going to date after McLaggen? "And she's got quite the naked body." Remus said and I finally looked away from Diana and to him. "What?!" I asked.

"Oh Merlin c'mon, first years are being sorted." Remus said and we all walked to the great hall but I darted to the astronomy tower. I needed a cigarette, Merlin how did she get me so wound up I can't sit through all of dinner watching her with him.

As I entered the astronomy room I went to the balcony and saw a girl in Slytherin robes and curly brown hair, she sat on the balcony's lip next to a telescope. "Hey Prongs." Diana said turning to face me. "Hello Ranger." I said and reached in my robe pulled out a box of cigarettes. I put one in my mouth. "Can I have one?" She asked me biting her lip. I do not think I can handle her lip biting let alone if I feed her oral fixation with a cigarette.

"Nope, you are not smoking."I said laughing and lit the cigarette. "And why not?" She asked with fake shock, "Oh it's a horrid habit." I answered and looked into her brown eyes, pools of pure honey and fire. They glistened under the moonlight. "Hypocrite." She said leaning in to me and narrowing her eyes. And then she stopped an inch away from my face smirking.

She looked down at my lips and I blushed but as I was distracted she grabbed my cigarette and threw it over the balcony. "Oi what was that for, Ranger?!" I asked and she laughed again, it's starting to become my favorite sound. "Oh it's horrid habit, James. Haven't you heard?." She asked me and smiled genuinely, huh that's the first time she's called me by my first name.
