"Can I come in?" I asked Remus as he barely opened his door. "Yes, Merlin, James what happened?" He asked and opened the door for me. Sirius was passed out in his bed so I wasn't worried, the boy could sleep through anything.

"I broke up with her." I said to Remus and he hugged me, he didn't make a face or have a comment he just held me, "It's gonna be okay, prongs. It's gonna be okay." He said into my ear and rubbed my back as I broke down into his arms.

"I couldn't- I- I couldn't do the lying but this hurts so much worse." I said to him as I cried in his shoulder. "What did she lie about, Prongs?" He asked me softly. "She wouldn't tell me why we couldn't go public and then only told me that I couldn't know the reason because she was protecting me." I said and Remus remained hugging me.

"How do you feel?" Remus asked. He was probably trying to ground me and keep me away from a very bad breakdown. "I love her and I didn't tell her and the way I did things made me feel like a cold hearted bastard everything just feels so raw and painful." I snuffled out.

"Just go to sleep and you can talk and relax in the morning." Remus said and led me to his bed. I laid next to Sirius and Remus took the floor and I cried into his pillow until I fell asleep. A dreamless sleep.

"She's not here." I said gazing through the faces and back of the heads at the Slytherin table. Remus sighed and took a turn closer to my ear, "James-" and I stopped him. "No she is not here, I don't see her face and there isn't a head of long curly hair at that table, ok? She's not here Mooney." I said and began fidgeting.

"Have you looked for mini Sirius?" Remus asked. "If she's not with us then she's usually with Regulus." He spoke and I looked for him. He wasn't sitting. "He's not here either." I said and looked at Remus.

"And somehow your a quidditch star with ur lack of observation." Remus said and pointed to a figure running out with a plate of food in his hand. "Well go already, Prongs." Remus said and I got up and followed him at a distance.

Regulus appeared at her door and she cursed it as alohamora wasn't working. He set his plate of down and with whatever strength those twiggy legs held, he tried to kick her door down. "Mate could you move please." I said making myself know and made my way to the door.

I kicked the door open and then moved away from Diana's sight. Regulus gave me a small nod and picked up the food. "Babe, c'mon you have to eat." I heard him say and close the door behind him. I entered my room and then sprinted to the door that was between our common room and Diana's dorm.

And she's laughing.

And she sounds giddy.

"Babe, Firewhiskey isn't a food group." I heard Regulus say, "Your right, mate. It's a meal." And I heard a bottle hit the ground followed by more laughter. "Diana, no. You have to eat." Regulus' voice pleaded with urgency.

"I'm fine I have my firewhiskey." I heard her say and then I heard glass break. I then banged my head against her dorm. "Regulus you fucking asshole that was my last bottle." Diana screamed. "You've already drunk 5!" He returned.

"Can't you just leave me alone?" She yelled. "No! Because this self isolation is bullshit." Regulus said in return. "Let me drink away the ache in my chest! I can't sleep without him so let me knock out!" She said and it all went silent. The nightmares are back.

"What do you mean the nightmares?" Regulus asked so soft I almost didn't hear. "I have this nightmare where I get what I wanted most and then I watch it all get taken from me. It's almost like a vision of the future." She said and I heard crying.

"James was how I got to dream." She sniffled out. "Diana why did you break up?" Regulus asked and the sincerity in his voice truly shocked me. "Because I love him." This. This took a fat fucking turn in the wrong direction. "And the actual reason?" Regulus followed up.

"I love him and I want him safe. That means away from me." She said and I heard her crying which muffled their conversation slightly. "But your disowned, aren't you as free as we would talk about?" Regulus asked her when the clarity in their voice returned. "It's not about my mother or father anymore, it's what he wants to prove a fucking point. He wants me to get his ducks in order. To make everyone fall in line for whatever he's planning and the only thing fucking stopping him is that fucking marriage vow." I heard her say.

"So you broke up with James because you didn't want him to marry you?" Regulus asked. "He broke up with me because I wouldn't tell him that I didn't want him to marry me out of obligation." Diana said and I am so fucking confused.

"How about I sleep with you tonight?" Regulus asked her. "Like old times when we would have sleepovers." He added on. "No it's ok, I'm just going to cry into that pillow over there until I fall asleep out of exhaustion." Diana said and I heard her door creak open and shut and a few moments later the shit was scared out of me.

"You're a terrible spy." I heard come from behind me.

"Merlin Bloody Hell?! What the fuck, Regulus. You don't sneak up on people like that." I said as I turned around impulsively to see Regulus towering over me with his arms crossed over his chest. "Merlin this will be much harder than I thought." He said and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm going to help you get that stubborn sweetheart back, ok?" Regulus said and i tilted my head up to look at him.

"What?" I asked him holding my head as it hurt from banging it against the door earlier. "You heard me, loverboy. We start tomorrow."
