Reid and I stood there studying the other one. I couldn't help as my eyes left his to look at his lips. I wanted to kiss him. I lightly bit my lip without even thinking about it.
Suddenly, Reid was moving towards me, cupping my head in his hands as he crushed his lips to mine in a desperate kiss. I gasped as I grabbed a hold of his shirt to steady myself. He knocked the breath right from my lungs. I was sure if I let go, I'd fall. Yet somehow, I knew that if I would fall, he would catch me.
His hands dropped to wrap around my waist to hold me steady. His lips left mine as he rested his forehead on mine. "Please say I didn't misread the situation there." His voice pleading as the sentence left his lips.
"You definitely didn't." I could feel his smile as he kissed me gently. His lips moved slowly over mine. I moaned slightly as his hands pulled me closer to him. My arms wrapped around his shoulders as he deepened the kiss.
Suddenly, my feet were leaving the ground as he lifted me. I held back a squeal as I wrapped my legs around him. I was definitely right when I thought he could lift me with no problem. He placed me down on the counter, pulling me tight against him by my thighs. Just the feeling of his hands on my bare thighs was enough to send goosebumps down my spine.
"Wait. We should stop." He lifted his lips from mine. I could feel myself deflate and look down, trying to hide the hurt I felt. Of course. This was all a huge mistake. He knows that he's out of my league. He was just having a moment of weakness. "Can I take you on a date tomorrow?"
My head shot up to see the look of hope on his face. He was serious. He wanted to take me on a date. "I-um I need to see if my mom can take Melody first, but I'd love to."
"If she can't my sister-in-law Daisy would watch both of them." Reid offered.
I felt a playful smirk play on my lips, "Oh, so you already planned this before I agreed?"
"No, Daisy's been trying to get me to date for years. I'm sure she'll leap at the opportunity."
I laughed as I ran my hands down Reid's arms enjoying his impressive physique. It was even better than I'd imagined in my head. "Daisy. That reminds me of that song. You know, the 'you drive me crazy Daisy' song. It's one of my favourites. It always makes me happy."
Reid laughed to himself at some joke he only knew, "Yeah, she's actually the inspiration for the song."
"What? No way. That Daisy is married to Rebecca Daniels."
"I know, Rebecca Daniels is my little sister, well step-sister." He smiled at my obvious disbelief. "I'm in the video for Daisy if you don't believe me."
"No way! I've seen that video a million times! I would have recognized you." I pushed him away as I went to my TV, pulling up the video for Daisy by Disaster's Calling. Reid came up beside me with a smug smile as I clicked on the video. The song started with just the band playing, focusing on the guitar player before flashing to the drummer.
Sure enough, the vocals started and there he was, dancing in the background. A laugh bubbled up inside me as I walked closer to the screen. I'd seen it so many times. Rebecca Daniels proposes to her wife Daisy in the video. It was one of the cutest moments I'd ever seen.
Will came out of the bedroom dragging Melody behind him. "See! There's my dad and there is my Aunt Red!" He said as he pointed up at the screen.
Melody started to deny it when she spotted Reid's dad moves and spun to look at Reid, then back at the video, then back again. "Holy shit!" She squeaked.
"Melody! Language!" I scolded.
"I heard you say it!"
"I shouldn't have because it's a bad word."
