I couldn't believe my ears. Did he really say what I think he said? "You love me?"
He got a dreamy smile on his face as he looked at me. "I do. I love you Olive."
Holy shit... Holy shit! Holy SHIT!! Reid loves me! All those emotions I'd been feeling the past few weeks as I realized just how far I'd fallen hopelessly in love with him. "I love you too Reid." I pulled him down to my lips unable to hold back. All my doubt left my heart as I realized, I'm going to love him forever.

Nine days. Nine peaceful bliss-filled days until I got a phone call from Brian. I followed Andrew's instructions not to answer. He left a voicemail before immediately calling me back. I sent him a text telling him I would only talk to him through texts and quickly my phone lit up with a text from him.
Brian: What did you do? Why will no lawyer in the city take my calls?
Olive: I have no idea what you're talking about.
I honestly didn't. I figured Andrew was behind it but I wasn't going to tell him that. I didn't have to wait until my phone was bombarded by angry texts.
Brian: Like hell you don't! Every lawyer I spoke to said it would be a conflict of interest to represent me. How is that possible?
Brian: Answer you stupid whore! You think opening your legs for all these men is going to get you anywhere? You'll get nothing. I won't stop until you have nothing.
God, I hate him so much. I can't believe I ever saw anything in him. Oh right, I was seventeen and he was an older man and seemed so 'mature'. He was always buying me all these fancy gifts and taking me to restaurants I couldn't afford. He did everything he could to make sure I couldn't see what a manipulative dick he was.
I put my phone down and looked over my dull office. I didn't want to be there anymore. I stood up and walked into my boss's office. She was the sweetest woman and near retirement. She was always super understanding when it came to my life as a single mom. Hell, she was one herself. Which made me feel a bit guilty about what I was about to do, "Excuse me Mrs. West. There was trouble at school with Melody's arm. I need to pick her up immediately."
"Oh, okay dear. Take the rest of the day then."
"Thank you, Mrs. West." I grabbed my things and left work. Should I be using Melody as an excuse to get out of work? No, but I needed to deal with this anger some way. I sat in my car and sent a screenshot of my conversation with Brian to Andrew so he could deal with it. I sat there for a second afterwards before calling a number I didn't think I'd ever call.
"Hey Olive, what's up?" Rebecca asked.
"How soon could you get me in the studio?" I asked.
"Is now too soon?"

I walked into the recording studio to see Rebecca and another woman waiting. I had my guitar in one hand and my sheet music in the other. Rebecca immediately stood with the biggest smile on her face. "Olive, meet Sam. Sam, meet Olive. Sam is one of the producers here and I think you she'll suit your sound."
"Hiya! I'm so excited to meet you! Rebecca says you have a real talent." She had a slight accent that sounded vaguely English. She'd almost lost it, but there was enough to give her words an interesting quality.
"Oh, well, she's only heard one song," I said. I could practically feel the blush working its way over my cheeks.
"Then let's hear more!" Rebecca clapped her hands and showed me into the recording booth, "I'm just here as support and to help you where I can."
