It wasn't long until Tessa arrived with Peter and presents in tow. As soon as she was through the door Melody was running to wrap her up in a hug. "Auntie Tessa! I missed you!"
"Awe I missed you too Melody!" Tessa said, "We need to have a girls night soon. We'll go shopping, watch princess movies, and eat all the ice cream."
"Yes!" Melody cheered.
Tessa let go of Melody and walked into the house. Her eyes went straight to Will and knelt in front of him with a huge smile, "You must be Will! I'm Tessa, but you can call me Auntie Tessa. This is my husband, Peter. We are so excited to have you in here."
Will's face lit up as he hugged Tessa. I could see him getting more and more relaxed as he realized how excited everyone was to meet him. Peter came over to say hello to him as Tessa stood to greet me.
"Happy birthday! Liv, girl, you look stunning. I absolutely love that dress." Tessa said as she gave me a big hug.
"Thanks, but I cannot take any credit for my outfit. These were all my birthday gifts this year. I was absolutely spoiled. Just feel how soft this sweater is." I held out my arm so Tessa could enjoy the soft fabric.
"Ooh love it! I'm guessing the necklace is from Reid?" Tessa looked over at Reid with a cheeky look on her face.
"It's a locket! He even printed off a bunch of pictures so I could pick out which ones I wanted." I opened it up so she could see the pictures of my little family inside.
"Eek! That is the cutest thing ever!" She looked over at Reid with a huge smile on her face, "Is this why you wanted all those pictures?"
"Yeah, she has a bunch so she can change it out whenever she likes," Reid said as he wrapped his arm around my waist. I started leaning on him without even thinking about it. I found myself thinking about that conversation about soul mates we had in his kitchen. I couldn't help but think he was right. Being with him was easy. It felt like I've known him my entire life. He really was the missing puzzle piece in my life.
The doorbell rang and I excused myself to open the door. I was treated to Rebecca and Daisy's smiling faces. "Happy birthday Olive! Thank you so much for inviting us!" Rebecca said as she gave me a huge hug.
"Really don't mention it. I'm happy you came." I gave her a tight squeeze before moving on to hug Daisy. I noted the birthday presents they were both carrying, "You really didn't have to get me anything."
"I know, but we wanted to." Daisy said, "Just to warn you, our family is big on birthdays." Just as she finished saying that Adam was walking up to the door carrying a guitar case in his hands.
"Looks like I got here at the perfect time! Happy birthday Olive!" He said giving me a quick one-armed hug as he stepped inside.
"Are you going to be giving us a show later?" I asked as I pointed towards the guitar.
"Oh no, this is for you. I know you're a piano girl, but as soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect." He said as he handed me the guitar case.
"What? This is way too much! There is no way I can accept this."
"I got no kids, no girlfriend, and way too much money. What else am I going to spend it on?" He waved me off, "Also the case comes with it, and you better take good care of it. I already tuned it for you so it's good to go."
"Thanks Adam. That's really sweet of you." I put the guitar down and gave him another full hug. I was touched that he got me such a special gift. I carried it over to where all the other gifts were sitting. Lincoln, Jack, and Osiris arrived soon after and we were left waiting for Kim and Dean to arrive.
