Reid's Point of View

I left Rebecca and Daisy to watch Will while I dropped Olive off at her house. After the sweetest of goodbye kisses, I returned home. I could feel the nerves starting up. As soon as I walked in, Rebecca and Daisy were waiting for me. Time to face the music. "Alright let's hear it."

"What?" Rebecca asked.

"What's wrong with her?" I asked, "There is always something wrong with any girl I've ever liked, so what's wrong?"

Rebecca and Daisy shared a look before Daisy spoke again. "I like her. I think she's awesome."

"I want to see how she handles the entire family, but she seems amazing," Rebecca added. I guess there is a first time for everything.

"Like, when we walked in with Will, she completely ignored us and just focused on him! No one does that for Will."

That was the first thing that attracted me to her. She could so easily be a mom to Will. He already adores her. Her heart is just so large, it could fit both of us in so easily. "I know. Her daughter is amazing too. Mom will absolutely adore her. She's always standing up for everyone. Oh, and just sassy beyond belief."

"You sound like a proud dad to the girl," Rebecca said.

"I want to be." I admitted, "I want both of them in my life. I never thought I'd be a step-dad, but for those two, I'd do anything."

"Reid, I'm just saying this to be sure, but do you like her for who she is, or do you like her because she'd be a good mom for Will?" Rebecca asked.

I sat back as I contemplated it. "Both. I don't think I could ever consider someone if I didn't think she would be a good mom for Will. Then again, Olive is also just spectacular. Last night was just the two of us and I was in awe. She's adventurous, brave, and gorgeous. She has this way of making you feel like the most important person in the world."

Both women sat there in silence for a moment. Something that didn't happen regularly. It was Rebecca who broke the silence. "I've never seen you like this for anyone before."

"I've never felt this way before. I'm going to marry her one day. I know she isn't ready, so we've agreed to keep it between us for now."

"Keeping it from the kids then."

"I'm trying to respect her wishes. I want to tell everyone, but it is smart. There are kids involved in this."

"What about family dates?" Daisy suggested, "Test how the whole family works together before deciding to commit."

That might be something. Maybe that could ease her mind? I hope so because I don't know how I'm going to keep myself from kissing her now I know what she tastes like.

Olive's Point of View

I walked into work Monday in a happy daze. The world around me seemed a bit brighter, the sound of birds chirping filled my ears, nothing could get me down. I never felt like this with Brian or anyone else for that matter. My closely guarded heart was starting to believe again. It felt good. It felt right.

"What's up with you Liv?" My best friend and co-worker Tessa asked. We've been friends since we were kids and she helped me get a job here, although she was much higher up than I was. She was my opposite in just about every way. She was bold, fierce, and independent. An absolute bombshell with curves most of us would die for. She wore her hair in elegant braids pulled back in a low ponytail that went down her back. I wish I had her confidence to be so unapologetically herself. It was something I admired about her.
