Chapter 8

Y/N's POV

The next morning, Loki and I were let out of our cells and put in chains. Today was our audience with the King. I hoped that since we surrendered ourselves, we would be spared.

As we made it to the throne room, Odin and Frigga stood before us. It was quiet, only the sound of our chains clanging could be heard.

"Loki, Y/N" Frigga said concern in her voice.

"Hello mother. Have we made you proud ?" Loki asked.

"Please, don't make this worse"

"Define worse" Loki said playfully, ignoring his father.

"Enough" Odin finally spoke.

"I will speak to the prisoners alone"

Frigga left without saying a word.

We walked closer to the throne. Loki laughed.

"I really don't see what all the fuss is about" He said.

"Do you not truly feel the gravity of your crimes ? Wherever you go there is war, ruin and death"

"I went down to Midgard to rule the people of earth as a benevolent god. Just like you"

"We are not gods. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do" Odin said calmly.

"Give or take 5,000 years" Loki said.

"If we are not gods, why do we have these title ? God of Thunder, God of Mischief, Goddess of Love ?" I asked.

"All this because Loki desires a throne" Odin said, ignoring what I had asked.

"It is my birthright" Loki said seriously.

"Your birthright was to die !" Odin screamed.

"If I had not taken you in, you would not be here now to hate me. That goes for the both of you" Odin continued, this time more calmly.

"If I am for the axe, then for mercy's sake just swing it. It's not that I don't love our little talks, it's just... I don't love them" Loki said.

"Frigga and Thor are the only reason you're both still alive. Well, Thor helped Y/N, not you, Loki"

"You will spend the rest of your days in the dungeon" Odin said looking at Loki.

The guards began pulling on Loki's chains.

"What about me ?" I asked.

"You, Y/N, will not be locked away. Thor has managed to convince me that you were manipulated by the Mind Stone and blinded by love. You will not be completely free either. You will be kept in chains and Thor will watch over you when he is here. You can roam around the palace, but one error will cost you and you will be sent to a cell. You won't see Loki, ever again" Odin said.

If it weren't for the fact that I would never see Loki again I would've been fine with this.

"You can't do that ! It's not fair ! Loki and I should get the same sentence. He was manipulated ! Just like me !" I screamed.

"Silence. Take them away" Odin said.

I tried getting out of my restraints, but it was impossible. Loki too tried getting out, but it was no use, we couldn't use our magic.

"Y/N !" He screamed one last time before he disappeared from my view.

I was brought to our room, the guards removed my restraints and locked inside. Soon I fell asleep with a single tear falling from my eyes.

When I woke up someone was knocking at my door.

" Lady Y/N"

It was Thor. I used a spell to change my clothes and arrange my hair. When I opened the door I saw that Thor was accompanied by a brown haired woman in strange clothes.

"Y/N I'm sorry to wake you up, but I have to guard you today. There is something I must do urgently so we must get going" He explained quickly.

Thor held my restraints in his hands. The only place I would not have to be restrained was my room and I wasn't allowed to stay by myself for too long.

The restraints were put on me, I had no intentions of fighting back, I had lost everything.

"Oh I almost forgot. Y/N this is Jane, the Midgardian I told you about. Jane this is Lady Y/N" Thor said.

Jane looked at me suspiciously. She then gasped.

"You're the one who tried to destroy New York !" She said with an angry look on her face, clenching her fist.

"Yes and as you can see I'm paying for my crimes" I said calmly.

She gave me a dirty look, not trusting me at all. To her I probably wasn't paying for my crimes, I was living a good life.

"Let's go" Thor said as we walked to the infirmary.

Jane laid down on a soul forge as the nurses checked her. I leaned on a wall. I took this opportunity to talk with Thor.

"Why did you tell Odin that I was manipulated ?" I asked.

"You were"

"If someone was manipulated into doing horrible things, it was Loki"

Thor sighed.

"I just couldn't loose you Y/N" He said looking at me. When we looked back at Jane, she was starring at us with a frustrated face.

A nurse walked next to us.

"This is not of Earth what is it ?" Asked Thor looking at Jane's soul.

"We do not know. But she will not survive the amount of energy surging within her" Answered the nurse.

The nurse bowed her head and left.

"My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely ?" Odin said to Thor, entering the room.

"She is ill"

"She is mortal. Illness is their defining trait"

"I brought her here because we can help her"

"She does not belong here in Asgard any more than a goat belongs at a banquet table"

Jane got up.

"Did he just ? Who do you think you are ?" Jane asked Odin.

"I am Odin, King of Asgard, protector of the nine realms"

"Oh. Well I'm..." She was cut off before she could finish her sentence.

"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster"

"You told you dad about me ?" She asked Thor surprised.

"Something is within her father. Something I have not seen before"

"You do know that her world has healers ? They're called doctors" I said interrupting the conversation.

"Guards ! Take her back to Midgard" Odin ordered.

As the guards grabbed her they were pushed away by a red force.

"Jane are you alright ?" Asked Thor touching her hair.

"Yeah"

"It's impossible" Odin said genuinely surprised.

I walked towards Jane to see what all the fuss was about. Her veins were glowing red.

"The infection, it's defending her" Said a nurse.

"No. It's defending itself" Thor said.

"Come with me" Odin said, leaving.

As Jane and Thor followed Odin, I stayed in my place.

"You too Y/N !" Odin said.

I sighed and followed them.
