Chapter 31

Y/N's POV

As I waited for the man to come and stab me again, nothing happened. I sat up as my wound healed, and a portal opened behind me. From the portal, Mobius walked towards me.

"Do you love Sylvie ?" Mobius asked me.

"I love Loki" I answered.

"The nexus event the two of you caused could bring this whole place down" Mobius said.

"Did she implant memories in C-20 ?" Mobius asked.

"No. She can't do that. Her powers don't allow her to" I said.

"You and Loki were right about the TVA. You were right from the beginning, and if you want to save her and Loki, you need to trust me" Mobius said.

We walked trough the portal and Loki waited on the other side. I ran towards him and hugged him.

At that moment, Renslayer and minutemen walked in with their batons, ready to prune us.

"I think you have something of mine" Renslayer told Mobius.

"Yeah, I got all the way down there before I even realized I picked up yours" Mobius said as he took a TemPad out of his pocket.

"What's going on ?" Mobius asked as a minutemen took the TemPad in his hands.

Renslayer stayed silent.

Mobius sighed.

"You know where I'd go if I could go anywhere ? Wherever it is I'm really from. Wherever I had a life before the TVA came along. Maybe I had a jet ski. That's what I'd like to do" As soon as Mobius finished his sentence Renslayer ordered for a minutemen to prune him.

Loki and I watched him as he disappeared. We gasped.

The minutemen grabbed us and brought us in front of an elevator. Another group of minutemen brought Sylvie next to us. Renslayer walked in front of the elevator and told the minutemen to leave.

"You okay ?" Sylvie whispered to me.

I nodded.

The elevator doors opened and we walked inside with Renslayer.

"Do you remember me ?" Sylvie asked Renslayer.

"I do. What do you want to say to me Variant ?" She answered.

"What was my nexus event ?"

"What does it matter ?"

"It was enough to take my life from me, lead to all of this. Must have been important. So what was it ?"

"I don't remember"

The elevator doors opened and in front of us stood the Time Keepers.

"Gracious, Time Keepers, as promised. The Variants" Renslayer said.

"After all your struggle, at last, you've arrived before us" One of the Time Keepers said.

"What do you have to say for yourselves before you meet your end Variants ?" Another said.

"Is that the only reason you brought us here ? To kill us ?" I said, annoyed.

"I've lost time of the number of times I've been killed, so go ahead. Do your worst" Loki said, angry.

"You and your bravado are no threat to to us, Variant" The third Time Keeper said.

"I don't think you believe that. I think you're scared" Sylvie finally said.

"No, Variant. You're nothing but a cosmic disappointment" Said the middle Time Keeper.

"Delete them" He ordered.
