Jasmin's POV

It's been two weeks since Joan's had us on lockdown.  I start opening the door, and that's when someone swiftly closes it back.

"What the hell are you doing?"  Do Chi's voice rings out, sounding angry.  I turn around to face her, seeing that her face matches her voice.

"I was just going out."  "Are you crazy?,"  She says, lifting a brow.  "It's not safe.  What makes you wanna just waltz out there?"

"Well, I realized that your dad doesn't know what I look like.  He doesn't know me and never has, so with all that being said, I should be fine.  I was gonna be armed anyway."

"Jasmin, please don't be stupid.  I can't-  I just-  Just stay inside with me, ok?"  "Ugh, fine, Do, but aren't you the least bit tired of being in this house?"

"I mean, it can get boring, but I understand that this is for my safety.  Plus, I have you here, so I'm good.  You're all I need."

I smile.  "Aaaaaawwww, thanks, Do.  I still wanna go outside, though."  "Can I tell you something?"  "Yeah, sure."

"I don't think you understand the severity of the situation."  She says, frowning.

"What?  Yes I do."  "Then you wouldn't want to go outside,"  She rolls her eyes.  "Look, Jasmin, my father is the most dangerous threat to us.  He's not gonna stop until he gets my mom back.  He has no other reason for being in America.  Lanh is crazy, and there's no telling what he's capable of.  Hell, he's already pulled a gun on my mom before.  He's very unpredictable, and that's why we have to stay on our toes and tread lightly."

"This sucks.  Our lives shouldn't have to be put on pause just because of some deranged dude with serious emotional problems,"  I sigh.  "But I get it."

She holds me in her arms, me holding her back.  "I'm sorry this is frustrating you, Baby.  It'll all be over one day, and we can all go back to normal."

She adorably pecks my lips, making me feel safe.
