Okay, legs

Okay, legs...move.

Nothing.

Arms? Let's go.

My body refuses to cooperate, leaving me to groan and force yet another fit of tears from my eyes.

I haven't moved in probably hours. I'm not really sure how long I've been out here. I flew up to the mountain that I can see from my room's window. I figured the waterfall would be a good place to clear my head.

I didn't quite make it to the waterfall because I couldn't see through all my damn tears. I have been crying a shit ton all because that fucking asshole waited until after I was marked to tell me he didn't want me.

Even though I know it's not true, the stupid magic bond tying us together doesn't know it. Which means this hurts way too fucking much.

I hit a tree branch and fell. I was tired, bleeding, and crying and after crawling around for a while, I gave up trying to move.

Now, though, I'm sick of laying here just thinking about everything. I need to do something. But, what?

I don't want to see Maverick. Not right now. It'll just be too overwhelming and we'll probably just end up saying things we don't mean. We both should cool down and figure out what happens next.

I suddenly get the urge to move and find the waterfall. This time, my body cooperates and I slowly work on dragging myself up. I guess now is as good a time as any to clean up my bloody skin.

I slowly work my way onto my hands and knees, groaning in pain as I move. I hear a branch snap from behind me and jerk around to see where it came from. When I see nothing, I slowly stand, holding my head to try and keep the faint pounding on my temple from getting worse.

I hear a rustling from my right and turn, seeing nothing again. I know something is there, though. Maybe that's why I got the urge to move so suddenly.

I never really considered the fact that there might be something dangerous up in the mountain. Gods, I'm such an idiot.

A low hiss echoes around me, sounding as if more than one animal is making the noise. Oh no.

Panic wells in my chest and I take a step forward, stumbling as I go. Why am I so weak? My fall wasn't really that bad. Was it?

I pull my wings out, hoping they can steady me better than my limbs can. I hover a couple of inches off the ground and begin moving away from where I heard the threatening noises.

Something hisses louder this time and I suddenly hear large paws hitting the ground from a good distance away.

Out of nowhere, a giant creature jumps out at me. I lunge forward and the feline-looking animal narrowly misses me and goes tumbling into a bush. I scream and push myself faster, hoping I'm heading towards the waterfall. I don't know why I think it will save me, but I won't question it now. Maybe these creatures don't like water.
