❝Thank you for loving me when I tasted of heartache and war.❞

Ears catching onto the distant laughter of her family members, the teen witch smiled as she approached the small living room with slow footsteps, her twin and father joining her side in a heartbeat before the latter stepped forward as he caught into his brother's words, them describing him as a tremendous ass.

The blond hybrid grinned, "That he is", he chuckled quietly, his voice announcing his presence as the many present turned to him, the nervous look on their faces only making his smile grow larger as he draped his arm over Kol's shoulder.

"But he oh-so-secretly adores his youngest brother", he teased playfully, pulling the younger vampire into a deep hug.

As they both pulled away, the twins peeked out quietly from behind their father's back, his gaze quickly flickering toward them before returning to the silent people in front of him, "Well, don't stop on my account", he laughed, "If this is to be my funeral, then, let's get on with it".

Eyes wandering around the dinner table set in the middle of the compound, the quadbrid let out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding as the many sounds of laughter slowly turned into a blurry mix of noises.

Her gaze shifted between the smiling faces of her uncles and aunts, the flying napkin that Elijah had seemed to have thrown, and the small loving glances the couples at the table seemed to exchange between phrases.

"Why aren't you joining in?", a sudden voice spoke to which she didn't respond, "You know he's doing this for the best", the ghost added after a moment.

"I do", she spoke in a hushed murmur, "but I don't want him to go yet", she sniffled, a cold hand placing itself onto her bare shoulder, "I don't think I can bare someone else leaving".

Henrik sighed as he looked around the table, eyes falling on the hybrid who was looking longingly at his daughter, "I haven't had on of these in so long", he spoke in a quiet voice, "can almost taste mother's cooking in the air", he chuckled.

"Your mother was a bitch who cursed me", the quadbrid mumbled lowly, salty drops sliding from the corner of her eyes.

Klaus, hearing the one-sided conversation, sighed, his hand reaching out to hold his youngest's tightly, "come with me", he murmured, quietly leaving the dinner table as to not disturb the rest of his family.

His footsteps drifted across the rather small staircase that led to his room, Miracle's not far behind, "where are we going?", she spoke from behind him, the man only smiling back at her in return as he led the way.

Unlocking his room then ushering her in, Klaus silently slid it closed before sitting on his bed and patting the spot next him, the quadbrid frowning as she followed in suit.

"Why are we here?", she wondered out loud.

"I honestly don't know", the man let out in a small, silent voice, "do you have anything you want to talk about?".

Miracle shrugged, "I thought I had more time with you", she sighed out, "I just got you back and there's so much I need to tell you, so much I need to show you", she added with a small sniffle as she passed her sweather's sleeve below her nose, "I thought you would be here for longer, cuz you know how Raphael was never there for me. I just hoped that you would".
