We had a morning practice that went from 7:30am to 10:30am. Connie wanted me to go to her hotel room to help her wrap something for her grandma's birthday so that can take up some time before I have to get ready to hang out with Adam, or at least shower so I don't smell like sweat.

I followed Connie to her room which was only a few away from mine and Julie's. She put her key in and opened the door, letting me in. I sat on her bed and waited for her. She was roommates with Dwayne I think, that statement was in fact correct when he walked in talking in his southern accent.

"Well hello m'ladies." he said with a wink. He set his stuff down, he walked into the bathroom and turned the sink on. Usually they wouldn't let a guy and girl share a room but nobody was worried because we all knew that Dwayne respected women, and nobody had any doubts about it. Not saying the others don't, Dwayne is just, yea he's just Dwayne.

Me and Connie laughed before she showed me the gift she needed help wrapping. It was a beautiful necklace with a gem engraved with the name "KimKim", I'm guessing that's her grandma's name or nickname. It was in a nice velvet navy-blue box.

The wrapping she had was a nice silvery color, and she had a bright yellow bow. It wasn't a very big bow because the box was small, but it was impressive how much detail was on it. We quickly got to work on wrapping this, making it the best we could possibly make it look.

I didn't wanna make it look like I tried to look nice. I was getting ready to hang out with Adam, I was trying to find something to wear. I didn't plan on doing anything special with my hair or makeup. It was just Adam, who was I didn't need to look good for anyone except myself. Okay maybe I wanted to look at least decent for Adam, but I didn't need to.

I chose a nice pair of wide legged jeans that went down to my ankles, a white tank top, and a tan cardigan that went down to my knees. It was nice, I put on my converse, I mean, those are the only shoes I brought besides my skates and roller blades.

I checked the time, 12:46, I had 14 minutes. I could do something to my hair, but should I. I walked into the bathroom to take a look at myself. I wanted to do a little something, I guess, but I don't know how to do many things with hair. If Julie was here she could help me, but she wasn't, she and Ken left a bit ago to do something to pass the time while I was hanging out with Adam. They left about 10 minutes ago, I don't understand why they left before we did. I don't control their lives though so they can do whatever they want.

I took one more look in the mirror, I decided I was going to try to braid my hair. Not french braids, but low braids. I grabbed 2 pony-tail holders off the hook thing Julie set up. I learned to braid my hair when I was young but it never came in much use.

I took my time folding one strand of hair onto the other. I tied a pony-tail holder onto the end of one braid, I dropped it then started on the other half of my hair. Doing the same process as the first.

I looked at it. I liked it, I loved it actually. I needed to do it like this more often. I walked out of the bathroom, I didn't know if I would need money or not but I brought it anyways. Always good to have. By that point it was 12:57, I grabbed my room key off the dresser by the door and walked out. I put the key in my wallet and waited.

Adam walked out of his room exactly at 1:00. I don't think he expected me to be out there because he jumped when he saw me. I'm usually late for things so I understand why. I laughed a little. He looked nice, he wore something close to what he usually wears but it was, nice. I mean, he looked as nice as one can at 13 years old.

"Hey, uh, I didn't uh" he stuttered pointing at mine and Julie's door. He laughed and scratched the back of his neck. "I just, uh, didn't expect you to be out here. Ya know, you're always late to practices n stuff so I didn't expect you to be, early" he was stuttering like crazy, I mean, I wouldn't expect me to be that early either but still, dang.

"Yea no, no I wouldn't either." Holly sheesh we were both talking like adults. It was kinda weird. I pointed to the elevator and he nodded. I shoved my hands in the pockets of my cardigan. I think I stole the cardigan from my mom a while ago, but she never noticed so I never gave it back.

We walked into the elevator and he pressed the lobby button. The elevator started then stopped with a jump a few seconds later.

"Okay so I have the whole thing planned out!" he said, smiling at me. I gave him a questioning look, telling him to go on. "Okay, first we'll go to that diner and get milkshakes, then we can go to this park I found over by the theater. Lastly, we'll watch the sunset or the sun, depends on if I got my timing right, on the hotel roof, because I figured out that we can go up there and I thought it would be cool." he said smiling. He really did plan this out, I bet Ken helped a little though, I laughed. He gave me a confused look.

"Oh yea, yea! That sounds good! Sorry, I wasn't laughing at you or your plan I was laughing about something I thought of, I swear I wasn't laughing at you!" I said, making weird motions with my hands. When I realized that I was doing that I held them together behind my back. He laughed. I sighed with relief, I didn't want him to feel bad about it, then I would feel terrible.

We were sitting on the hotel roof. His timing was right, we got to the top at the perfect moment. The sky was gorgeous, there was a bunch of yellow, red, and pink.

"You know your not very sneaky, I can see you look at me when I'm reading." He said. I laughed, mainly out of embarrassment.

"Adam I'm not looking at you, I'm looking at your book. I've been trying to look at the back cover without it looking weird."

"Okay, yeah, whatever. We all know your looking at me. I mean, I would too, I'm pretty okay looking." He said as he did a pose with his hands. I laughed, he was kinda funny.

"But like for real, what's the book about." I asked.

"Well, I haven't finished it, I'm not even halfway into it. But there's this girl named Hazel Grace and she goes to this cancer group where she meets a guy named Augustus. It's like, love at first sight and stuff. They share interest in a book, and it's like their perfect for each other."

"Oh, okay that's-"

"I'm not finished. They bonded over an author and, that's where I stopped. I don't know what happens next, but for what I know so far, it would be great to have a Hazel Grace."

"That's so cheesy!" I laughed.

"No I'm serious! They're relationship is so..perfect."

I didn't say anything for a minute.

"I'm sure you'll find a Hazel Grace eventually. You're a pretty cool person."
