We found seats in the auditorium, in the middle. We were a row in front of a bunch of guys in red jackets, they all had their hair gelled in a swoop style. One of them made a comment that made all of us turn our heads back.

"You guys don't belong here." One of them said. What?

"We do actually, rich boy." I scoffed. Who did they think they were?

"Hi, we're the Ducks, the new JV hockey team. You are?" Dwayne said reaching his hand out, only to be given a chewed up piece of gum. What jerks.

"Varsity, the only hockey team." Ya know, my little brother got rejected of his spot because you guys showed up." Someone said, he had a C on his jacket, so I'm guessing he's captain.

"He probably wasn't good enough." Julie snapped back. I clapped in my head.

"You see, that's my dad," the guy said pointing at a guy on stage. "He's the one who got you pukes here."

"Nice suit, did it come with a yacht?" Russ said, I laughed to myself. It was funny.

The dean started his speech. I looked around the auditorium, where was the rest of the team?

"Looking for someone?" The girl next to me said, I hadn't even noticed someone sat down there.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, the rest of my team should've been here by now." I said.

"Oh, hm," She said, I shook my head. I would've expected Adam to get them here on time but I guess not. "Well, I'm Evelyn, I'm a freshman, what about you?"

"I'm Annalise, I'm also a freshman." I said. I peeked up at the dean to make it look somewhat like I was paying attention.

"Nice! Oh this is my brother," she elbowed the boy next to her causing him to lean his head over and look. "Andrew, he's also a freshman, we're twins." I gave him a small wave and he smiled.

"Hey, I'm Annalise." I said. All of a sudden there was a crashing noise coming from the stage. The three of us shot our heads in that direction to see that the curtain had fallen, there was talking coming from under it.

Someone stood up, the curtain fell revealing them. Oh, my, gosh. It was Charlie. The curtain fell some more to show the rest of the team, including Adam. I have to admit, it was funny, but it's not how we wanted our team to look. I sighed.

"Those are the people I was looking for." I said while rubbing my hand on my forehead. I looked back up at the stage and saw Adam looking at me, we made eye contact. I gave a nervous smile and a small wave. He smiled back, cute.

"Hi," Charlie said. Oh my gosh Charlie. "We're the ducks."
