Finally it was the last period of the day, 7th period chemistry. I waited for Adam by the door, I knew he wasn't going to be there already.
Adam walked up to me from the hallway to my left. We only had 5 minutes to get from one class to the other, and it took him 3 of those 5 minutes to get here, slowpoke.
"Gosh, a snail could've gotten here quicker then you." I said while playfully rolling my eyes. We walked into the classroom and found seats at a lab table. Andrew was sitting at the table next to ours on my side, he was sitting by someone I didn't know. I smiled at him and he smiled back, giving a small wave.
The bell rung a few seconds after, I flinched, I wasn't expecting it. Adam laughed at me and I hit his arm. Jeez why was the bell so loud.
It had been at least 5 minutes and the teacher hadn't shown up.
"Hey, shouldn't she be here by now?" Adam asked.
"That's what I was just about to ask you." Right after I said that a young women with blonde hair and glasses walked in. She looked out of breathe.
"So so so so so sorry guys, I had to attack the printer to get it to work." She laughed nervously. "I'm Ms. Nelson, heads up, I don't believe in homework. So don't expect any from this class." she smiled. "Okay, welcome to chemistry!"
*****
"She was like, clearly the best teacher here." I said as me, Adam, and Andrew walked out of Ms. Nelson's classroom after the bell had rung. Adam nodded his head.
"Yea, especially compared to Mrs. Corlan, I swear she's like a energy draining troll." Adam said. We waved to Andrew as he headed to the front exit, Adam and I had practice so we went to the back exit, it was the closest to the rink.
We were greeted by most of the team at the exit. We had all decided to meet up and walk to the rink together, and because Adam is the literal definition of slow, we got there last.
We walked out of the doors and started walking down the sidewalk. Campus was pretty big, but the rink was only a 3 minute walk from the main building.
We got there and immediately we all stopped to look at the building. It was a lot bigger then the rink we usually went to. This school is like, rich rich.
We walked in and headed straight to the locker room, JV had their own locker room separate from varsity's, which is nice because I don't wanna be in the same room as the varsity jerks. I picked a locker next to Julie, she smiled at me as we started getting ready for practice. We had both worn jerseys from our old schools.
We finished tying our skates, waited for Adam, and met the rest of the team in the hallway. We walked into the rink and saw the varsity practice. They were good. Someone said something I couldn't hear I didn't really care either.
"Pfft, we can take these guys." Charlie scoffed. He didn't like the varsity, like, at all. He pulled some cheap prank on them during lunch which got all the varsity players and cheerleaders after him.
"Whatever you say, captain." I said while playfully rolling my eyes. We walked to the opening of the rink, Charlie opened it up and was greeted by the captain of the varsity team, the guy who's dad owns the school or whatever. I rolled my eyes.
Adam put his hand on my shoulder, ahh, butterflies. Okay so I did still have a fat crush on him, but we aren't dating.
The varsity coach came and got varsity out of here so we could practice. Our coach still wasn't here so we just skated out on the ice. Before I know it Dwayne pulls out his rope and we're all skattering.
I saw Dwayne coming after me with the rope, he swung it around in the air a little bit before lanching it towards me. I was watching it carefully so I knew when it would come and what time to move. I dodged it right before it got to me. I watched it hit the ice.
Dwayne changed his focus to Charlie, he chased him around before flying the rope towards him. It wrapped around him, making him fall. A man in a warrior jacket skated towards us, stopping right in front of Charlie.
Charlie was quick to get up.
"My name is coach Orion, you can call me coach, or coach Orion." he said blankly. I rolled my eyes. This guy was our coach? He does not fit with our team at all, I just met him and I can already tell that.
"Well you can call me Charlie." Charlie said, about to laugh, while sticking his hand out.
"Must be what that C stand for on your jersey, sure doesn't stand for captain." Orion snapped back. Charlies face dropped.
"Hey Bombay gave him that." Goldberg spoke up.
"And I respect that but this is my team now and I will be selecting roles."
"You're kidding me right? I mean, you're the rookie here, we've all been together for four years."
"Okay Charlie, Laps, now." Orion snapped.
"How many, coach Orion." Charlie said. More of a statement then a question.
"I don't recall saying."
Charlie rolled his eyes and started skating backwards to start his laps. Our captain, or past captian(not sure which at the moment) is already pissed off. Things weren't looking good, and I could already tell this was going to be a lonnggg practice.
