(Time skip- 2 years later...)
Izzy focused on the twinkling stars embedded like jewels in the navy blanket of a sky. She was counting them, finding the constellations, focusing every ounce in her body on the stars. They glowed back at her. Suddenly, there was a flash of light in the sky, and the Earth shook with a large boom. She glanced around frantically for any sign of danger, but none of the other dragons came out of their treehouse.
Voices filled her head, and she breathed a sigh of relief. The stars were back again. One of them twinkled brightly, and she spoke softly to them.
"What will happen?" the star glowed bright again, and she saw a vision.
A crimson tongue of flame was flickering across the forest, trees were crumbling into ashes. A dark shape, some scales glowing slightly, fled away from the scene. The fire grew and grew, the smoke clogging the clear, sharp air. It was hazy, hot, and musty. Forest animals tried their best to escape, but one by one, the slowest ones were swallowed by the red flame. Then it spread further, engulfing the treehouses. A voice spoke.
"Beware the dragon of the night,
Beware the one with extra sight.
Beware the dragons that rule the land,
For the traitor is their second hand.
Their minds will turn at the very end,
But before that, they are not a friend.
The battle will come,
The evil will fall,
But at what cost, that is to call.
The shade, the sunset, they will merge
For they will soon converge.
Together they will fight
For destiny.
For prophecy.
And what will rise is majesty."
Izzy shivered at those words, as the vision vanished. She hadn't spoken to the stars for a long time, and tonight, she had decided to reactivate her powers again. But this? This was not what she expected. She quickly ran back into the treehouse, and into Xiaowan's room. She was curled up under her blankets with her eyes closed. Izzy smiled evilly, then called "XIAOWAAAAN!" Xiaowan immediately bolted up, eyes blurry with sleep. When she saw Izzy, she sat down on her blanket and said "What? If it's not important, then I'm going back..."
She was cut off by a strong scent of smoke. Izzy's eyes widened. She looked around frantically and shouted "I think there's a fire!!!" All the Shade of Flight rushed out of their cosy treehouses, and sure enough, Izzy saw a flash of black scales, with a few shining silver scales, leaping away from the scene. Then, came a tsunami of animals. They were charging towards them, bounding away from the engulfing flames of the fiery monster, the flickers and embers licking at their tails.
Justin shouted something inaudible, and every dragon rose into the air like a flock of cockatoos. Xiaowan had tears in her eyes as she looked down on their home. It had already caught on fire, and was starting to burn down to the ground. With one last look from everyone, and whispered farewells from the Shade of Flight, they flew away, towards the oceanside, the beach, the coastline, the sanctuary.
