So, there's the spark of a ship here! Uh, I'm kind of bad at ships so... Anyway, Callaire! (Do you know how weird it is to ship my real life classmates? Hopefully they don't read this... aaah)
A few days ago, Izzy had told Jacob and Justin that she had a prophecy from the stars saying that they needed to go and defeat the queens. So, they agreed to do it. The queens were the reason they were fugitives in the first place, and they all wanted to take them down anyway. When they told Sabina, she didn't seem as eager for them to go away as Callum would have expected.
Callum was a tall dragon. He was dark blue, had HUGE wings, and had the fiercest fire of all the dragonets. The others kept claiming he was 'handsome' and kept asking who his crush was.
HE DID NOT HAVE ONE.
Except maybe he did now...
He liked the idea of the Shade of Flight and the Talons of Dusk joining up. They were both pretty much the same, and both needed to defeat the queens to gain freedom and get their parents back. He didn't see why anyone needed to disagree. Plus, there was a pretty girl in the Talons as well...
But he DEFINITELY DID NOT HAVE A CRUSH, or so he told the others every time they asked.
Sabina wanted them to stay for a little bit longer, saying she needed to teach them basic fighting skills or else they would perish in jail after being captured, so they decided to stay for another week or two.
Sitting on his bunk of the many bunk beds in the hut, Callum thought about if he should tell her...
But no, because HE DEFINITELY DID NOT HAVE A CRUSH.
Suddenly, Claire came in. His heart melted.
"Callum. There you are. Sabina wants you to do some battle training. She says you'll be a good example. By that, she means she's gonna beat you up to show the others." She said in her 'Claire' sort of way. Callum didn't even know her that well. They had only known each other for weeks, after all, but he was sure that HE TOTALLY HAD A CRUSH.
He stumbled out into the daylight, trailing behind Claire's footsteps in a trance.

The lesson went really well. Callum learnt a thing or two about how to deal with the pain after being beat up. Sabina said that it was just a few small bruises, and that it was nothing compared to what the guards would do to them, but Callum had never been in a fight before, which was probably why his bruises HURT SO MUCH. He sat on his bunk and wished he hadn't had to leave it.
David and Calvin entered the hut.
"Hey Callum, nice job out there." Calvin said. "I totally understand how to fight now." He said mockingly in a friendly way. Callum laughed a bit. "Ha."
"I couldn't help but notice you weren't yourself today..." David started. "Something wrong? Hm?" He smiled as if he knew something.
"Who's your crush?"
"I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH!" Callum said too quickly and too loudly.
"Meh." David said, turning away and going outside. Calvin followed. Calvin was oblivious to what David was alluding to, but David had a smirk on his face. That was not good. This was going to be worse than the time he thought Callum had a crush on one of the girls in the Shade of Flight.
Because this time, he would be lying.
Izzy came in shortly after, looking behind her shoulder at David and Calvin with a weird expression.
"Do you need healing? I can't do much about bruises, but I can heal cuts."
Callum had almost forgotten that Izzy had a power other than communicating with the stars.
"Nah, all she gave me were bruises. Can you make them hurt less?"
"No, but I can give you these poppy seeds to make you sleep, that could help."
"Sure." Callum said, receiving a talonful of seeds and eating them. He lay down and listened to Izzy walk away. He slipped into the world of dreams.
Beware the one of purple hue.
He woke for a second, shocked, but closed his eyes once again, dismissing the warning. Izzy already knew the prophecy anyway.
