"Miss Ganyu!"

"Ah Huixin! Did you need something?"

The half adeptus stood up from her seat and peaked over her large pile of documents. She met eyes with one of her junior's, Huixin.

"Ah well I was just wondering if you needed any help with any of your work"

Ganyu let out a smile giggle and smiled

"It's quite alright Huixin, no need to busy yourself for me. This is my usual workload so I'm not stressed"

Huixin sighed and took a small stack of the documents off her table

"I'll take these and finish them off for you, ever since the traveler brought you back you've been nothing but overworked. Take a break Miss Ganyu, you deserve it"

Huixin left with a handful of documents and Ganyu quickly sat back down. She picked up her pen and started scribbling down notes for different affairs. Then moving onto business deals for Lady Ningguang. Before she could even finish her work, it had gone past midnight.

"Another day behind a wall of documents..."

She sighed with a smile and stood up to stretch her arms. She walked around her office and bent down to touch the floor. She felt he stomach grumbling from the hours she had gone without food.

"You again... ugh why does Liyue have to have such tasty food. Even if I try to control myself, I just can't stop eating"

Ganyu sighs as she takes out a small snack box with her favourite snack inside. She opens it and taking out one of the Qingxin flowers, munching on a few petals, a few leaves sneaking in.

As an adeptus who carries the blood of the Qilin, she should be strictly vegetarian. Though her human side isn't very fond of the idea. Truth to be told, Ganyu is actually quite the foodie, but... she tries to refrain from eating too much

She put the box back into one of her many drawers before getting back to work. This was her usual routine, she works nonstop from the moment she gets into her office until past midnight. Of course there's the exception of her afternoon nap. Then once is gets to midnight she'll either snack on a few Qingxin petals or she'll head out and find something to eat.

Throughout the night, the light in Ganyu's office never turned off. It was consistently turned on and Ganyu's head was always looking at her table, working away at paperwork. Only when it reached about 4-5am would she then stop and head home.

She picked up her purse from behind the door and checked to see if anybody had left her anymore work. There is a paper holder stuck to the front of Ganyu's office door. Everyone knows to just leave any work they have for the secretary in that basket.

"Ah... Huixin must have told everyone to not give me any more work..."

Ganyu smiled at the thoughtfulness of her junior, though she wouldn't mind the extra work. Locking her office, she left her workplace and went back home.

"Hm... I wonder how Xiao is doing with his adeptus duties..."

"Disperse!"

Particles of greenish-blue and black danced in the air as the remaining hilichurls collapsed onto the ground, fading away into nothing. He clutched onto his polearm and watched the whole camp dismantle itself.

"Hmm, another nights work."

The adeptus cleared out the remains and sat down on the sandy earth. He looked up and saw the glittery stars covering the dark night sky's.

"Life can be so beautiful to everyone else, yet in my eyes... life is nothing but endless suffering"

A cool breeze blew around him that carried a familiar gentle voice

I wonder how Xiao is doing with his adeptus duties...

He let a tiny smile show and closed his eyes.

"I'm doing well Ganyu, maybe I'll come visit you soon. As you said 2000 years ago... we'll meet again"

He stood up and took off his mask. The polearm he held was attached to his back as he ran to clear out another few camps to finish off the night.

Once he was done, the sun was starting to rise. He returned to Wangshu Inn and was welcomed by the boss, Verr Goldet.

"Welcome back Xiao, how was your night?"

Xiao grunted in response, tired of hearing the same old question

"I'm fine. You really need to stop asking me the same question over and over again... it's starting to get repetitive"

She could only laugh at his comments. The woman was already quite used to his behaviour. She and her husband had told Xiao to occupy one of the rooms permanently ever since the Inn had opened. After all, the Liyue Qixing had ordered all the staff to assist Xiao in his work if he ever needed it.

"Alright Xiao, go take a rest. Would you like me to bring you any food?"

"Mm, no need..."

His voice had gone low and it was barely audible to the boss. She still heard a little bit so she just nodded

"Come find me if you need anything!!"

She called out just as Xiao was walking away. He walked back to his room which was hidden away from the other guests. The hallways was empty as usual and he opened his door.

The window was slightly open, letting the wind blow into the room. The curtains ruffled and he went to stand beside it.

"Hm, Ganyu is probably getting ready to head back to work"

He stared at his hands before balling them into fists. He let out a sigh and leaned out the window

"She's been thinking of how I'm doing for all these years... yet I've done nothing to tell her I'm still the same"

Taking a glance at the freshly risen sun, he smiled once again

"I'll try to find her after she's done with work. I really shouldn't miss a night but I've done a lot today."

He fell onto his bed and let his eyes close

"I wonder how well she's doing. Humans don't have much work so she should enjoying her life of relaxation"
