His eyes showed no life.
His body was trembling.
He was exhausted.
He was worn out.
He was on the brink of collapsing.
Scarlet red blood trickled down his arm from an open wound. He had managed to defeat the all the fatui skirmishers. His amber orbs glowed through the mask and his hand tightened its grip on his spear
"What's the matter oh Vigilant Yaksha?~"
Her voice rang through Xiao's ears, her taunts echoing in his mind. He finished fighting the other two fatui and all that was left was Signora and someone else.
The adeptus that staggered towards Signora couldn't be called the same person Xiao once was. His expression was lifeless and emotionless. There was no light in his eyes. Just hatred, hatred for the harbinger standing in front of him
He knew he was walking straight into a loosing battle. Maybe if he wasn't weakened by those other fatui, he would be in a better condition to fight. Even if every nerve in his body told him to turn around, one thing drove him forward
An image of the blue haired adeptus girl flashed in his mind and he seemed to gain a bit more energy. He knew that the girl basically had his mind in a trance. He was obsessed with her in a way he never thought he would be. The obsession he has with Ganyu was something he didn't want to control him, yet he couldn't help it.
He strengthened his hold on the spear and his eyes had a glint of light. His amber orbs seemed to blink out the hatred and he gained control of himself once again
Signora realised a change in his attitude and smirked
"What happened? Did I intimidate you too much?"
Xiao took a deep breath and shook himself before glaring back at the harbinger.
"It's not you, but the fact that you just stood there watching as your minions beat me up..."
Xiao laughed a bit before glancing back up
"Do you not want your little hands to get dirty?"
Signora visibly got very annoyed as she held her hand out. A frosty gust of wind shot out and Xiao just moved to the side to avoid her attack. His eyes followed her every move and he carefully dodged all her attacks. Though this kind of defensive stance isn't one that Xiao typically enjoyed, he found it to be useful in situations like this.
Eventually he regained most of his strength and Signora grew tired from the constant attacks she was blowing out. Xiao took that one chance he had and knocked her out. She collapsed to the floor and Xiao evacuated back to Wangshu Inn.
"Hey Xiao-"
Before Verr Goldet could even finish speaking, Xiao fell down on his knees. His body fell limp and hit the wooden floor boards with a loud bang.
"Xiao? XIAO!!"
His vision faded as he heard the boss frantically tried to call for help
Ganyu... stay safe...
His consciousness faded away as he was left with a hope that the girl that stole his mind would now be a little safer

Ganyu woke up from her nap and adjusted the the lights. She looked up at the clock and felt extremely confused.
"Eh? It's only 1:38pm? Strange... I only wake up at 2..."
She sits up and stretches her arms with a big yawn. She stood up and her bells let out delightful ringing sounds. The door opened then Keqing walked in with a few files
"Lady Keqing? Did you need anything?"
"Hm, I didn't mean to disturb your nap"
The Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing took out two papers and left it on Ganyu's desk
"I just came by to give you a bit more information about the fatui, that harbinger was the 11th and his code name is Childe."
"Ah thank you Lady Keqing"
Ganyu bowed slightly but Keqing just walked towards the door. She then suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned around
"Right, I almost forgot. The traveler came over just a while ago and told me to give you this note"
She handed her a small envelope before shutting the door. Ganyu put the letter in one of her drawers and left it for later. She picked up the document Keqing just left for her and carefully scanned the text
She sighed and looked out the window in her office. Her bow and arrows sat at the corner of the room. Her vision lay flat against her waist and pulsed as an overwhelming feeling over came her.
Her breath escaped her as time stopped. A voice echoed in her mind but she couldn't recognise who's voice it was. Something clawed at her heart and her eyes started to water. A wave of emotions stabbed straight through her soul. Her mind was all over the place and she couldn't gather her thoughts.
Time started moving again as Ganyu blinked a few times before clutching onto her stomach and letting her head face the ground. She choked out a few drops of blood and she adjusted back to the present.
Ganyu sat back up and took a tissue to wipe her blood stained lips. She cleaned the floor as well and thoughts about the strange feeling that so suddenly washed onto her.
One moment she was feeling completely fine, then the next moment she starts coughing out blood randomly. Her throat was sore and her heart was beating like crazy.
She slowly collected her thoughts and takes a seat on her chair. She remembered the note Keqing had passed to her to took the envelope out of her drawer.
She ripped it open and took out the paper inside. Her hands unfolded it to reveal a neatly written note by the mysterious traveler. She sub-consciously read it out loud while processing what the letter said
"Dear Ganyu,
It's the traveler, Aether! I hope you're doing well. I was thinking of visiting you personally but I got a commission from Keqing so I decided to let her pass it on to you!
I just wanted to say that..."~*~*~
The letter does continue but Im just gonna leave the rest for next chapter :)
Hope you enjoyed it and have a nice day ^^
