I just want to be

Ganyu walked back in with the first aid kit. She sat on the bed and gently smiled at Xiao

"Come on, I'll clean you up"

The two sat in silence as Ganyu focused on carefully bandaging up Xiao's arms. She then moved to the large wound across his back but his shirt was covering half of it

"Xiao could you take off your shirt of a moment? I need to reach the wound on your back"

The male hummed and threw his shirt over his head, letting her wrap bandages around his torso.

"So... how's work coming along?"

"Hm? Oh, work is fine. It's just filing documents as always"

Xiao winced when she pressed down on his arm and she immediately noticed

"Sorry!"

"It's fine..."

His voice trailed off and slipped his shirt back on. He turned to face Ganyu and saw her looking straight at his arms

"These wounds are really deep... what happened to you?"

Xiao hesitated for a few moments but then he shook his head

"It's nothing really, I just wasn't careful while fighting"

He didn't want to make Ganyu worry even more then she already was. She blinked at him and sighed

"Please try to be more careful"

They sat in silence as they just stared at each other. Xiao's attention was drawn to Ganyu's attractive features, her soft, silky hair and her cute horns. Her bright purple eyes and everything about her was just perfect.

"H-hey is there something on my face?"

Ganyu hid her face in her hands but Xiao took her hands in his own. He pulled them down and made Ganyu look into his eyes

"Yeah there is something on your face"

"Huh? What is it?"

Xiao internally cursed at himself for what he was about to say

"Beauty"

She squealed and quickly looked away. Xiao slapped himself and tried to hide his embarrassment

"I never thought you would be the kinda to say that..."

She giggled and he looked back to see her smile

"Yeah, I hate myself for saying that"

"It's a nice compliment though, thank you"

They got a bit more comfortable and started talking more casually, like two best friends who always talked. Even though Xiao knew Ganyu saw him like a little brother, he couldn't help but fall more and more for her.

"Yeah! Lady Ningguang and Lady Keqing can be so strange... I don't understand them at all!! Of course I still listen to them because they are my superiors but seriously!"

Xiao chuckled as Ganyu continued to rant about her work

"Lady Ningguang makes so many changes that no one understands!! Her amendments only serve to produce more confusion"

She huffed and crossed her arms

"Then there's Lady Keqing, don't even get me started!! She talks about Rex Lapis like he's not doing the best for us. I guess she's come around to appreciate him more with his passing but her words really hurt! I guess boys fine though, they both work hard and I admire them"

Xiao chuckled and let his head rest on the pillows

"Your work sounds like both your happiness and your pain"

"Well... I really do love my work and the people I work with. It's just that their sceptic opinions and odd ways make me worried for the future of Liyue."

There was a knock at the door and Xiao jumped up to open it. Verr Goldet stood in front of the open door and waved at the two adepti

"Good morning you both, I hope you spent your night well. I wanted to ask if you wanted anything to eat"

Xiao looked out the window and saw the sun brightly shining high up in the sky. He looked back at the boss and nodded

"Thank you Verr Goldet, I'll just have a bit of Almond tofu. You want anything Ganyu?"

"Ah... I-I'm not hungry..."

She looked down at her hands and Xiao sighed

"You're still the same when it comes to food huh."

He crossed his arms and glanced back at the woman

"Could you make a Satisfying Salad topped off with a few sweet flowers?"

"Xiao! I said I'm not hungryyy"

She got up and ran to his side.

"One plate of Almond tofu and a bowl of salad with a few sweet flowers, I'll bring it up here once it's ready!"

She bowed and shut the door. Xiao turned around and met eyes with a frowning Ganyu

"Stop looking at me like that, you need to eat"

She sighed and nodded

"I was just going to eat a few Qingxin flowers..."

"What...?"

She walked over to her bag and took out a small box filled with Qingxin flowers. Xiao curiously looked to see her peel off one of the white petals before popping it into her mouth.

"You eat them...?"

"Yeah! They're delicious, try one!!"

She picked off two more petals, placing one on Xiao's hand and nomming on the other. The younger adeptus carefully examined the petal before eating it. His eyes twitched at the bitter flavour and his nose scrunched up.

"Bleh, that's so bitter!!"

Ganyu blinked before chewing on a few more petals

"Yes, aren't they supposed to be bitter?"

"Uh... I won't judge..."

He sat back down on the bed and Ganyu ate another petal before putting the box away.

"I'll just wait for the boss to bring us the food"

"Since you so kindly ordered a dish specially for me... I suppose I will eat..."

She sat beside him and they both stared out the window

"Last night was quite nice... talking to you really does put my mind at rest..."

Xiao listened to her soothing voice and nodded

"I will say, the times I've spent with you make me the happiest I've ever been"

Their hands touched and Xiao felt his face warming up. Ganyu slowly intertwined their fingers as they watched the clouds move ever so slowly

"How are you able to make me feel like this..."

Ganyu heard Xiao mumbling something but couldn't quite catch the whole thing

"Huh? Did you say something?"

"It's nothing"

"If you say so..."

She lightly squeezed his hand making him even more flustered then he already was. Ganyu smiled to herself and whispered

"Perhaps today I won't be a lonely cloud-gazer..."

Just realised none of this story makes sense but whatever :)
