Jisung watched Renjun frown as Jeno went to sit next to Mark and his friends. He got the feeling, Jeno had also been ignoring him the entire day. His best friend had left him and it was kinda sort of really upsetting if he was honest. Jisung sighed, running his hand through his hair as he watched Jeno laughing along with one of the guys at the table. It was like Jisung and Renjun hadn't spent the entire previous night knocking and banging on Jeno's door so they could explain. As if they hadn't sat outside listening to Jeno scream at his father not to open the door, making both their hearts shatter even more so. As if they never existed.
Tired of sitting by himself at the table and annoyed with all the confused and sympathetic looks he was getting from his peers at other tables, he grabbed his tray and slid out of the seat. If Jeno was going to associate him with the creepy emo kids, might as well join them.
As he began to drag his feet to Renjun and Chenle's table he knocked into someone. Mumbling an apology, he looked up, only to be greeted by Jaemin, or as Jisung had noted in his brain in case he forgot the name, the pretty hyung. Because seriously this boy was stunning, he could make anyone's heart flutter, even Jisung's.
Jaemin smiled up at him, "Hiya, bubba!" He greeted cheerfully.
Jisung broke into a small smile, finding it a bit hard to be overly upset in Jaemin's bubbly presence, "Hi, hyung."Jaemin frowned, cocking his head at him. He pinched Jisung's cheek, "what's the matter, baby?"
Jisung puffed his cheeks, feeling dejected once more, though not as intensely. He glanced over at Jeno for a moment, before looking back at Jaemin with a half-hearted smile, "nothing at all."
Jaemin placed his hands on his hips, looking over at Jeno with a disapproving look. Jisung swore he could see a flash in his eyes, bright like the boy's hair, but honestly he could just be hallucinating at this point. Something about being friends with not only one, but two vampires made you extremely paranoid. If anything, Jaemin just looked disappointed in his hyung and quite frankly, he agreed. It was more than upsetting, his best friend for the longest time wouldn't even respond to his texts or calls. Jisung probably had sent at least a hundred or so and Jeno hadn't even bothered opening them. He even left both tables during their break. He was scared, and Jisung understood that, but how he could completely shut him out baffled him. Jeno had known both him and Renjun for so long, how could he just discard them as if they were nothing?
Jaemin bit his lip, noticing the growing sadness in the young boy's eyes. He sighed, "well there's no use being upset about it now, is there?" Jisung looked up at him, a kind smile on his lips.
Jisung shrugged, "I mean, he has all the right, I just wish he'd listen." "How could he just abandon me?"
Jaemin nodded, walking beside him before turning on his heels and linking their arms, "Well what had happened?"
Jisung puffed his cheeks, "well, he found something out about Renjun hyung and now he won't talk to either of us."
"Does it involve you?" Jaemin asked.
"He thinks so, but in reality I just know about it, it has nothing to do with me," he answered honestly, sinking into Jaemin with a pout.
"Ah," Jaemin nodded, he lowered his voice, "so he found out that Renjun's a glorified bat?"
Jisung shot him a confused look, "sorry?"
"Look, saying 'vampire' is just weird," Jaemin chuckled, fake gagging at the word.
Jisung's eyes widened, looking at his hyung in disbelief. He looked around them before yanking Jaemin out of the cafeteria. The elder's eyes widened slightly as he was pulled, "woah, what?"
Jisung spun him, firmly gripping his shoulders once they were outside, "you know?!" he asked in disbelief. He didn't think Renjun already told Jaemin considering they had only just gotten close recently. Renjun had known Jisung for a long time now so it made sense why he would tell him, but Jaemin? Maybe Jaemin was just that trustworthy.
Jaemin rolled his eyes, "well duh, it's not like he nor Chenle are subtle."
Okay no, never mind, Jisung definitely knew now that Renjun didn't tell him anything. Chenle wouldn't tell anyone, he didn't like people enough for that, at least from what he had deduced in the small amount of time he had known him.Which was weird considering how he found out, but he didn't want to think about that just yet.
Jaemin sighed, seeing the thoughts rush around in Jisung's brain past his eyes. "It's the silver in their eyes, idiot."
"What?" Jisung looked back at Jaemin.
"Silver for vampires," Jaemin said, "within different supernatural entities, different colours flash in their eyes when they use part of their abilities. Do you seriously not know this?"
Jisung furrowed his eyebrows, "why on Earth would I know this?"
Jaemin moved his head back, looking at the younger before clicking his tongue, "maybe I just know too many people like that," he half chuckled before shaking his head. "If your friends with Renjun or Chenle or whatever then know this, vampires have silver, werewolves gold, mermaids and naiads light and dark blue respectively, sprites pink, nymphs green. Other non-human entities can't pass as human for long enough to go to a school. Got it?"Jisung nodded, just taking Jaemin's word for it. The boy seemed to know more anyway. Though he would like to run some of the facts past Renjun, it seemed legitimate.
"Yeah, got it," he nodded, "and since you know so much, you're gonna help me explain to Jeno, yeah?"
Jaemin blinked at him for a moment before breaking into a smile, "I get to help your pretty friend?"
Jisung looked at him, repressing a smile, "you like Jeno?"
Jaemin shrugged, smiling as he swayed from side to side, "I think he's cool, I want to be his friend." He chuckled slightly, "shame he doesn't see me the same way, but that's okay, I'm sure we'll be friends soon." Jisung watched the boy spin in circles, smiling dumbly to himself. He giggled as he saw Jaemin skip away in joy. He pushed his hands into his pockets, praying and hoping that Jeno would understand. And he was going to recruit as many of their friends as he could.
Though, it's not like many people knew what Renjun and Chenle were.
"Wonder if Chenle will be okay with this."
