"JI!"
Jisung's head shot up from his laptop screen, looking over to Chenle yelling at him. Chenle pursed his lips, trying not to laugh as he reached over and pulled the sticky note that had attached itself to the younger boy's chin. Jisung turned slightly pink as Chenle brushed his thumb across his jawline, Jisung staring into Chenle's eyes, confused and slightly lovesick.
"You zoned out again," Chenle chuckled, turning back to his own work, "you gotta stop, man, this is due next week."
"Ah yeah," Jisung laughed awkwardly, staring back at his screen in slight confusion. He still had no idea what to write. If anything the more he stared at his screen, the more he just wanted to write about the boy beside him. And not wanting to do that, but still wanting to just kind of indulge in the feeling of having a crush for a moment before he could cleanse, he quickly thought of something to do."Sir! Chenle and I are gonna go get a little more inspiration!" he yelled out, grabbing Chenle's hand and pulling the very thrown off boy off his chair. Before Mr Seo could even give or deny approval, Jisung had run out of the classroom, dragging a very disoriented Chenle out with him. He turned backward, jogging slightly, and flicked Chenle's hood over his head before turning back and sprinting down the hall with him. With confused yet joy filled laughter, Chenle let himself be pulled by the younger boy, running out and down the stairs of the building to the open air.
"What the hell, Park Jisung," Chenle laughed once they reached the pathway, looking over to Jisung doubled over with his hands on his knees, wheezing the air out of his lungs. He didn't go outside enough to do that much exercise in such a short spurt of time. Dancing as a sport was very different to sprinting, even though it seemed similar when looking at it objectively.
Chenle snorted as Jisung stood up, his face scrunched as he exhaled sharply.
He turned to face the older, grinning at him before walking backwards, Chenle giggling and following him down one of the many tree covered paths of their highschool, branches and trunks dipping low over a winding path, covering the area in a comforting green with flowers sprinkled through the bushes. Jisung hummed, turning back to see where he was walking, quietly singing songs as Chenle caught up to him."You and I, we don't wanna be like them," he sang out, more to himself than anything as they strolled down, stepping on fallen leaves. "We can make it til the end, nothing can come between you and I." Chenle bumped his shoulder with a smile, Jisung beaming back at him before continuing his rendition of a One Direction song. It wasn't as bad as he thought he would be, it sounded decent in his ears, though it may just be the wind. He was just dicking around anyway, there was no reason to worry about what was happening around his head.
"Your voice is very pretty, Sungie," Chenle said quietly, kicking the stray leaves beneath his feet.
Jisung glanced at him with bright eyes, whipping his head back in front of him. Cheeks quietly dusting pink, Jisung timidly asked "really?"
Chenle hummed with a nod, "of course, I like your voice," he chuckled quietly, "whether you're singing or just speaking."
"Oh," Jisung inhaled slowly, nodding as he took a small skip in his walk. Maybe it was going to be a little bit hard to get rid of this gross feeling if every damn compliment Chenle gave him made him turn red. How he wished to be a vampire, maybe then it would be easier to hide feelings. As they strolled down their path, Chenle joined in to Jisung's little medley, bouncing around different 1D songs, laughing as they tried to remember English lyrics. Something Jisung learnt is that along with Chenle's beautiful speaking voice, the boy had the most gorgeous singing voice he had heard ever. He would honestly put it over Renjun or Donghyuck's voice, who he was originally determined had the best singing voices, but now he wanted to pay Chenle to sing him a song recorded specifically for him and nothing else. "Perfect voice, perfect face, perfect personality, great I'm gonna die." How he was going to get over this boy was going to be the biggest challenge he'd ever endure.
"You can't just throw out your feelings, you have to use them in some way." Jaemin's nagging running like a broken record through his head over and over in a never ending loop, occasionally scratching to "either tell him or just let it fizzle out." Jisung couldn't just throw his feelings, even if he wanted to. He had to do something about them or let them fizzle out, and with how close he had grown to Chenle, it's not exactly like he could let them fizzle out. Cause fizzling out depended on Jisung leaving Chenle for at least a bit so he could get his head back in the game, and he didn't really know what would happen if suddenly Chenle just vanished from him. Because over the course of only a few months, Jisung had grown so attached to the older boy, it would be like trying to walk properly with his leg ripped out if Chenle dropped him now. Damn school projects bringing people closer together. "Maybe that's what couples therapy should be."
Jisung puffed out his cheeks as he thought, Chenle looping his arm through Jisung's as they continued their stroll, humming Mary Poppins songs. Jisung smiled to himself, looking back at Chenle for a moment as the older boy skipped beside him.Welp, if the project is due next week...and he didn't know if Chenle would want to stick around...might as well just throw his brain in the bin rather than his heart.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, last time he thought that he ended up getting to know more about his friends than anyone could ever imagine and got closer with the one person he was terrified of, going to the complete opposite side of the spectrum by having a massive crush on him instead, so nothing too bad could happen, right?
If all went to shit he could also ask Renjun to help him so that worked too.
"Hey, Lele, can I have the collage tonight, I can finish the essay tonight I just need it as a reference," he bullshitted, Chenle smiling and agreeing. If he was going to confess to a vampire he might as well do it in a creative way. His project was about comfort, he had to describe things that brought him comfort and now, nothing more than ever brought him comfort than Chenle's presence. Obviously he couldn't put pictures of Chenle on the damn board he was getting graded on but he had a few ideas.
"I'll need it back myself after though cause I found another thing I found comfort in," Chenle beamed back at him, his eyes sparkling slightly. Jisung nodded slowly in response, mumbling "sure" in response. Ah yes, Chenle had his own crush that brought him comfort as well. Well at least Jisung's friendship could go out with a bang, and he wouldn't have to deal with his brain throwing stones at his heart for going astray and pushing it to his stomach after a while unlike right now. Because honestly he might as well push an actual boulder on his chest, it might hurt less than Chenle indirectly mentioning his crush on someone else.
"Everything's just fine."
