Hey! I figured since I updated last Wednesday I would update today! I think I'm going to try to update my story on Wednesdays and Sundays. Hope you enjoy it!-expressionwriter
After changing into the proper attire for my arrival to Para I was finally ready. The jet touched down. It was just about time. My nerves were definitely getting to me now.
"We're right here for you, your highness," Joe stated. The door opened and we emerged from the plane where my grandmother and her guards were waiting for me.
"Welcome my dear Aurora!" My grandmother greeted me. "We have been expecting your arrival for quite some time. I'm so happy to have you here with me. Let's get started. We have a lot to talk about."
"Glad to be here. It has been a long time coming."
We got inside a limo that drove us to the palace. It was huge and I was allowed to ride with my grandmother. I'm not entirely sure what to expect today or really the future. Life is already more formal than what I'm used to.
I remained quiet during the drive. Glances were exchanged between my grandmother, Joe, and I but nobody spoke until we arrived at the palace. The palace was huge just like I thought it would be.
The landscape surrounding the palace was beautiful as well. It was perfect. The limo stopped and the guards opened our doors for us to exit the limo.
"Feel free to roam around while we get the preparations set for your training. I want to know what I'm working with here. Enjoy. Joe will stay with you. If you need anything let him know." Grandmother informed me.
"Thank you, grandmother. I won't be too long." As we entered inside I had this strange feeling. I wasn't sure what to think of it. What I could make from it is that it was familiar.
I know I visited here for a summer a long time ago but the more I walked around the more I remembered from my time here. I found the room where I played by myself and with other kids. This feeling showed me around my home. Wherever felt familiar is the direction I took.
"Are you okay, princess?" Joe asked.
"I think so. Is my room the same?"
"Well, it has been updated more to your style. The queen felt like a twin bed and tea party sets weren't you anymore. The items in your room had been moved to storage. We could pull them out for you at any time." Joe stopped talking and listened to his earpiece for a moment. "I have word that your boxes have arrived. They are taking them to your room."
"Okay. Thank you, Joe. It's just so strange being here. I remember things that I hadn't thought about in a long time. Like where certain rooms are or even memories from that time."
"The mind is an amazing thing that we possess. It remembers and forgets the little things and the important things that we come across in life." He is always so philosophical.
We tracked back to one of the secluded rooms my grandmother was in to see how much more training I would need. For as long as I can remember I've taught myself how to be proper. I even went to classes when I was younger to make sure I was doing it correctly.
Grandmother had me walking, eating, and drinking at the table, and saying my proper greetings. The only thing I am worried about is forgetting these things that I've learned in front of important people. She tested me on some history and ways of life here in Para.
I could tell she was surprised by all I knew. I've always was the kind of child who had to be perfect at everything. That has carried with me into adulthood. When I finally understood the role I would take over later in life I knew I had to train myself early that way I could be ready for that call.
