Happy November! I really hate this weather with a passion and will be hating it until about April or May of next year. But we will make due! Apparently, I put a recap in from the last chapter. I honestly thought I wrote the chapter twice. My coffee hasn't kicked in yet or maybe I need more. Also, I am in no way a health professional and they talk about medications later in the chapter. Again, just go with it. It may be incorrect but I don't really care. Look at the end of the chapter for an announcement!-expressionwriter
The alarm was going off but it wasn't mine. I noticed it when I grabbed my phone to snooze the noise and it didn't stop. Then Charlie moved his arm towards his phone.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Snoozing the alarm." Charlie's voice quavered. I laid my head back down and waited until my alarm went off. When it did I knew it was time to get up. The weird part was Charlie got up too. "Give me five minutes."
"Again, what are you doing? It's five in the morning!"
"I wanna run with you. Can I?"
"Um, I guess. Wait. Is this because I ran eight miles yesterday?"
"No I understand how it looks right now but I promise that's not the reason Rory. God, I am so tired!"
"Go back to bed Charlie. I do not want to deal with you whining because you got up too early. This is the only time where I am at peace through my whole day by myself. If you promise to not whine the whole day you may run with me."
"Deal." Instead of shaking my hand, he gave me a kiss on the lips. "Five minutes. I'll meet you at the track."
After changing into my running clothes I went to the track. Charlie joined me some minutes later. I wasn't entirely sure what he was thinking but oh well. He won't whine and I'll get to beat him again in running.
He showed me how to change the settings to laps instead of the stopwatch. Then we ran. I ended up passing him and I didn't see him after that until I was done running. The clock showed 28 laps. That's seven miles.
"Well, I got to four miles. You did seven. Impressive. How do you feel?"
"A little light-headed." I sat down on the ground and Charlie handed me my water to drink. "Thank you. I know I passed you and then I didn't see you again. You got slightly over half of what I did. Why did you get up so early to run with me?"
"It's been so long since I've seen you run. With us getting married I thought maybe we could do it together if you wanted. Could be a hobby for both of us. Is that something you wouldn't mind doing together? I understand you said this is your alone time but it doesn't have to be. We're going to get married and become one together. You won't be alone. And I don't have to run with you every morning either."
"You understand that this is weird for me, right?"
"Yes, I understand Aurora. Should we not talk about this now?"
"No, we can talk. I've always run by myself. Having you ask my permission is what is weird for me. Nobody ever wants to do this especially willingly. To be honest, I think you're crazy. Let's go shower and get changed."
On the way, I joked about showering together but Charlie didn't seem too keen on that idea. I wondered if we even would have a sex life when we are married because he doesn't appear to think that way at all.
He gets mad every time I bring it up. I'm worried about that because I find that important in a relationship. Like how he finds communication important is how I feel about being sexual with one another.
Today we are going to tell his parents about our hidden soon-to-be engagement. I was excited that they would know before it happens and it was really important to Charlie that we came here to tell them this.
