A few minutes earlier...
Nezuku grunted at the demon women. She knew that if she were to mingle with a group of humans, the surrounding demons would immediately turn their eyes at her. The demons glanced at her, annoyed expression on their faces. Soon, they decided to ignore her odd prescence and cycle back to all that juicy gossip.
I never really liked these types of girls when I was a human... she thought. This wasn't much of a surprise. She was a laundry girl most of her life, dedicating herself to her family, just like Tanjiro. She had no time for silly stories about their neighbors.
But, of course, she was always curious. She never had the chance to actually KNOW what the gossip was about, so she decided that it wouldn't hurt to hear a story or two.
"-umors say he's gonna double-cross the poor emperor!" one demon said. She wore a glittery purple dress with her hair tucked in a messy bun, a few strands of hair tickling her eyes. "The kid's gonna be slaughtered tonight, like a pig in a slaughterhouse!"
"Your analogy is too obvious to be an analogy." the demon in the middle said. Her dress was of the same shade of purple as the glittery demon, but with a silk texture, which Nezuko liked, since lights didn't bounce of the dress every damn second.
"But you know what I mean!" the glittery demon replied. "It's all gonna come down tonight! In a few moments from now, HISTORY will be made!"
"What's your point with this?" the silky demon asked. "I would consider this wedding as 'history', since it's a rare occasion of beauty and beast. Too bad the groom has no idea we're going to slaughter everyone here soon enough."
"That's the thing! The marriage was never ordered by The One Who Shall Not Be Named, but Hirohito's ASSASSINATION was!"
"So?"
"So if WE were the ones to kill Hirohito tonight, we'll be pleasing the demon king himself! Hell, we might even get to be one of the MOONS!"
Nezuko's heart almost stopped as she realized what the glittery demon was trying to imply.
"Oh... OH!" the silky demon exclaimed as she realized the same implication. "So, I get to be a demon moon?"
"No."
"Wait, why?"
"Because I'll kill him first before you!" the glittery demon laughed, rushing straight towards Hirohito.
Nezuko was frozen, shock and horror taking control of her limbs. What should she do? If she tried to stop the demon, she'll basically blow her cover, and essentially, the covers of everyone else. If she tried to tell Giyuu, the demon would already be slicing Hirohito to pieces by then. There was a lack of time and options, but there was no lack of risk with every option.
I have to do something... Nezuko thought. I HAVE TO STOP HER!
She could feel her Blood Demon Art slowly start to bubble and combust in her hand. She could hear her dress crease as she started to raise her hand. She could hear he silky demon's yell of surprise as she watched her friend make an idiotic decision.
I have to stop her! I have to-
Before the glittery demon could get anywhere near Hirohito, the third demon woman spoke up.
"Stop right there."
Nezuko breathed out a sigh of relief and lowered her arm, the Blood Demon Art snuffing out of existence in a pocket of smoke. I almost compromised the entire mission.
Nezuko turned to look at the third demon woman. She was completely silent throughout most of the previous conversation, and although she was the tallest of the group, she barely even seemed present, but nevertheless she spoke in a commanding tone.
