Zenitsu couldn't feel his limbs.
His arms and legs felt like they were moving themselves, and his consciousness was only a sliver of energy in a vast powerhouse of strength. It felt amazing.
And it was screaming to be let out.
He raised his head up and saw Kaigaku clutching his currently re-growing hand. It was obvious that he didn't want to waste any time, as he was already walking back to Nezuko.
Don't touch her!
Zenitsu shot forward and sliced at Kaigaku's neck, which he parried. But Zenitsu already saw that coming. As quick as he dashed, Zenitsu rotated his blade, bringing it down to Kaigaku's forehead. He flinched, clutching the wound, which caused him to bring his blade down. Seeing the chance, Zenitsu spun and swung at Kaigaku's neck. Unfortunately, he didn't lean far enough, and only sliced at his throat. Kaigaku stumbled back, gurgling in his own blood, but quickly regenerating.
"You-" he stuttered. "you were lying to me about your true strength this entire time?"
Zenitsu didn't answer. Instead, he attacked again, delivering fast, small cuts to Kaigaku's limbs and torso. The Upper Moon managed to parry the first few strikes, but Zenitsu sped up. Lightning sparked around them as he swung at his head, arm, fingers, and legs, faster than the eye could follow. Kaigaku kept standing, but soon enough, his regenerative abilities were too slow for Zenitsu's lightning-fast strikes. Out of frustration, Kaigaku tackled him, sending both of them to the ground. Although Zenitsu was fast, he was still much smaller than the more built and intimidating Kaigaku.
"I'll kill you!" Kaigaku shouted at the top of his lungs, bringing his fist up. However, before he could slam it down Zenitsu's face, he was grabbed from behind. He flailed his arms in retaliation as Nezuko pulled him up, constricting his movement by keeping him in a tight squeeze. Kaigaku tried biting at her fingers, but as his fangs dug into her flesh, blood spilled out. Nezuko clenched her fist and triggered her Blood Demon Art, causing the blood that got on Kaigaku's teeth to explode. Kaigaku screamed out as his mouth was engulfed in pink fire.
"Zenitsu, kill him now!" Nezuko shouted, heaving Kaigaku up and exposing his neck. Zenitsu got back up, but hesitated.
If I swing at him, I'll hurt you too... he thought. I can't kill him if you don't let him go...
Just then, he noticed that Nezuko was holding on a Nichirin blade positioned behind Kaigaku. She raised it up to protect her neck, so if Zenitsu slices, it would kill Kaigaku, but it would be parried away from Nezuko.
Zenitsu sighed. Alright, then.
He knelt down and squeezed his Nichirin blade's handle.
Thunder Breathing, First Form... Thunderclap and Flash...
Kaigaku screamed louder as lightning started enveloping Zenitsu's crouching stance.
"You're worthless!" Kaigaku yelled. "You think killing me will prove anything?! You're just the same pathetic person you were, and always will be!"
Zenitsu's hand wavered, but kept steady.
"Just remember, Zenitsu, the only reason you'll kill me is because your girlfriend helped you! You're weak! Insignificant!"
I know... Zenitsu thought. but there's one difference between you and I... There are people out there who love me.
But you wouldn't let anybody love you.
In a literal flash, his feet leapt off of the ground as he dashed forward at an incredible speed. he could feel lightning sparks running through his arms, tickling his skin. Warm blood was dripping down the wound on his forehead, but it didn't matter. As he inched closer to Kaigaku's throat, he raised his Nichirin blade.
