"NOOOOOOOOO!" the groom screamed.
"Slayers, to arms!" Giyuu shouted out, drawing his Nichirin blade.
The entire venue exploded into screams of terror and confusion as the humans tried to run out the exit while the demons rushed for the groom, who had just summoned his Blood Demon Art. Through all the chaos, Giyuu could see Hirohito hiding under his table, pure fear visible in his eyes.
As the demons rushed against the angered groom, glowing with green flames behind his back and around his arms, the human attendants sprinted through the exit, some of them so desperate to escape that they started clambering over the people in front, trampling them. Giyuu and the rest of the slayers rushed at the demons, slicing limbs and chopping heads with blood spraying everywhere.
From the corner of Giyuu's eye, a glint flashed from the window. Giyuu turned his head towards the glint, where from the high roofs of the surrounding buildings, the silhouettes of a dozen slayers stood.
Sharpshooters.
"Everybody, down!" Giyuu shouted.
As the slayers obeyed and crouched down, the windows shattered with a distant crackle of fire and smoke from the surrounding buildings beyond. Dark projectiles, moving faster than the eye could see, shot inside the room and into the bodies of unsuspecting demons. As the bullets impacted their flesh, a slight purple puff was visible from their entry holes.
Wisteria-infused bullets. Giyuu thought. Something we should have implemented long ago.
Giyuu stood back up and sliced off the heads of the demons, choking and convulsing from the wisteria. Suddenly, an eruption of green flames sent a few more demons flying. In the middle of it all, the groom stood, growling like a monster.
The groom charged at the rest of the demons, who braced themselves for the inevitable impact. Giyuu quickly glanced away and turned to the exit, where a few people still lay, trampled, pinned, or just too shock to move. The other slayers covered him as he passed by the chaotic flashed of green and red, sliding in to aid the human attendants. He pulled the trampled ones behind the corner of the doorframe, instinctively hiding them from the demons on the other side of the room. He reached out his hand and shook the speechless ones awake, directing them to the corner behind him. To his right, he could see Tanjiro and Nezuko running towards him to assist.
"We have to get them out of here!" Tanjiro yelled as he slid beside Giyuu, Nezuko doing the same. "If they kill off the groom, there's no doubt they'll come for the people too!"
Giyuu nodded in agreement. "Okay. I'll bring them over to one of our sharpshooter roofs, keep them safe. You and Nezuko will cover us, watch for any-"
He was cut off by the sounds of relentless screaming. Giyuu turned to the source of the sound, confused.
The screams were coming from outside the building.
The human attendants that managed to get out started rushing back to the building. Their faces were horrified, like they had just seen death itself.
Why? Why are you all coming back here?! Run, you fools!
Giyuu and Tanjiro flinched as the sound of rifle fire erupted from the rooftops. However, none of the bullets were directed towards them.
They were directed behind the human crowd.
As the crowd dispersed in different directions, he could see something behind them. Shades of red, black, and peach could barely be discernable from the chaos. Suddenly, Giyuu's eyes dilated as he realized what it was.
