"They seem important. This isn't the first time, peach. Who are you talking to?" Chan asks, kneeling in front of me while the other two just watch the scene play out.
"Channie, it's nothing. I just talk to myself a lot." But it doesn't seem like my own thoughts. I mean, it does, but it doesn't.
You don't make sense. I'm aware, asshole.
"It's worrying, Ji."
"We need to focus on the real issue. What are we going to do?"
I hope he gets off of your back for this one and just forgets about it. Yeah, me too, but he will circle around to it again. Maybe if you weren't fucking insane, he wouldn't see this as an issue. I wish I could put you in a cage.
"We can talk to Changbin and Jeongin about it. I'm sure they might be able to help," Minho speaks up, noticing my drifting.
Damn, he's good.
"They are currently on a date right now with their so-called lovers."
"I think this is a bit more important, babe."
"We've gotten this far, let's just give them a day. I'll talk to Felix tomorrow."
"Uh, guys," Hyunjin cuts in, raising his hand a bit. "I never finished telling you everything."
"Go ahead, Jinnie."
"Yesterday, at the restaurant, I wasn't there to really grab dinner. My dad was spying outside. I knew he wouldn't interfere if I was in his way, so I went in before he could. He's taking more risks. He's ready to pounce whenever he has the chance."
"Wait," I stop him. "Why would he try to reveal what they are in front of an entire crowd of people?"
"I'm not too sure, but I think he wants power. Show he's not crazy. Get the public on his side, so he can get legal status and more people to join hunting."
"He is fucking crazy," Minho growls, his eyes having a faint red tint.
"Pup, it's okay. Calm down. We'll figure this out," I remind, removing my hand from his to caress his face. Gosh, he was warm. "Are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah, just a headache."
"Moon, you should go lay down. You're still weak from what happened," Chan sets a hand on his shoulder, his eyebrows scrunched together with worry.
"I'm okay," he shakes his head, but Chan's grip tightens.
"Minho, I'm serious. You need rest. I'll come in the bedroom to lay with you soon. We just have to figure it out."
He hesitates, but stands up. "Thanks for telling us, Hyunjin. We appreciate it a lot."
"Of course. Feel better," the younger smiles.
Once my boyfriend leaves, we get back on track. What do we do? What can we do? We can't run. We can't hide. We can't kill him.
"We could try leading him off track," I speak out, slowly building a plan in my head. "Does he know where we live, Hyun?"
"No, I don't believe so."
"Okay. You could, sometime during the day, tell him you're going to help me pack. If he asks why, say I'm moving back to Malaysia."
"But what if he sees you out at a restaurant?"
Shit. He's right. "What if we make him go crazy? Target him. Threaten to kill him. Give random clues that mean nothing."
"Um, I don't really want a more psycho dad."
"What if Chan and Minho aren't demons? Chan, don't you know a witch? Isn't there a spell that could shield you two from holy water or demon traps?"
"It's just for holy water and physical liquids and powders, but I do know someone. An old friend, Tzuyu, but she lives in a different city hours away."
"Call her tomorrow. We can deal with the demon traps a separate time. I don't think any restaurant would let him paint one on their floors anyway. You could invite us over for dinner, prove that he's just paranoid."
"Yeah," Hyunjin nods, "I think that could work."
