It's so weird seeing photos of me where I wasn't aware. They were so clear, too. How close had he gotten to me? Did he know where we lived? I honestly don't doubt that.

"Okay, I think this is the last of it. I'm going to do a sweep of his room upstairs."

I nod, peeling my eyes away from the photos. They had sent shivers up my spine. Hyunjin walks out, leaving me to myself. I gathered the photos, tucking them away in my bag. How could someone be so sick? Even if my boys were demons, shouldn't you leave people alone as long as they're happy? We're all adults. We all consented. Why was he trying to get in the way of that? Why was it such a big deal?

Two fingers push on my forehead, relaxing my frown. "What are you thinking about?"

I chew the inside of my cheek. "Nothing. I think we got all of the photos. Let's go."

"Hey," Chan grasps my arm. "Tell me."

I shrug. "I don't get why people are so nosy and can't mind their own business. Some humans are such a disgrace."

"And they'll stay that way. Don't worry your pretty little head. He's going to leave us alone finally. I'm just happy I didn't have to kill him. But seriously, you don't have to think about that now."

"I-I know, but..." My voice shook as I thought back to my own parents. "I just don't understand." They were doing their best to accept it. As I think about everyone else, though, they don't all have happy endings. "It's so sad, Channie. They did nothing wrong. None of us did. Why do people want to destroy everything that isn't like them? It's so dumb."

"I don't know, peach. It's just how it is. There are people out there that are trying to change it. Strong people who still want to believe in the humanity of others. As the years go on, it'll get better, but you will always have those idiots."

"I know," I breathe out. He rubs my back, kissing my lips. A calm wave rushed over me.

"Let's go find the other two."

"I'm so glad it's over," Minho sighs, laying down on the couch and closing his eyes.

"We should probably still check up on it," Chan responds. I think at him. "We need to go over there for dinner or something and see if he remembers."

"That's not a good idea, Chan," I say. "He doesn't remember us, but he remembers his hunting days. He will know what you are as soon as he sees you. It'll happen all over again. Let's stay low for a few days."

"Dammit, you're right. I didn't think about that." Chan bites his lip, crossing his arms.

My stomach growls even though the mood wasn't exactly calm. I curse under my breath. "I'll be right back." I go to the kitchen, opening the fridge. It looked so empty. We need to go grocery shopping.

Suddenly, my breath is stolen from me. My eyelids flutter, and I stumble back in the cupboard. Why is my heart pounding so hard? Why is my arm going numb? Is everything getting brighter? Why was the buzzing so loud? I need help. What's wrong with me? Why can't I think straight?

I'm then lifted into the air and placed onto something. Warmth encases me, and it feels like puppies are kissing me. My vision clears and my chest expands, leaving me to breathe in deeply.

"Good boy, good job. You're okay, angel."

Minho runs his fingers through my hair as Chan rubs my back. I was coddled into his chest as I sat on the counter.

"Are you with us, baby?"

I nod, closing my eyes. Oh man, I'm tired.

"Good. Can you tell us what happened?"

"I think..." I pant out, swallowing thickly. "It just caught up to me. I'm okay."

"Let's go to sleep for the night."
