"So Jisung," my mom begins. "I was thinking about our conversation the other day about your... relationship. Honey, I do love you. Your father and I love you so much, so... we thought we could have a dinner with the three of you. Meet them, if that's okay with you."

My heart swells.  "Oh mom," I whisper softly. "That- that would be wonderful. Thank you for this. You have no idea how much this means."

"Your father and I just want the best for you. I'm so sorry it took so long for us to want to meet them."

"It's okay," I choke out a laugh. "It's okay, mom. The only thing that matters to me is that you're trying to accept us. What day do you want us over?"

Man, I need to get a car. I have my license already, but it's useless.

"Is Thursday okay? I know we're a bit far from your apartment. Your father can pick you up if you'd like or pay for your taxi."

"It's okay, we can figure something out. Thursday is fine."

"Alright hon, we'll see you then."

I hang up the phone, leaning back against my bed frame and letting out a sigh of relief. Everything felt stable again, for the most part. Minho was getting better, my parents actually wanted to meet them, Chan still remains unproblematic.

You know something bad is going to happen. Shut up, you don't know that. Yes, yes I do. How? Because it always does, dumbass. It's going to be okay. No, it won't. We made a plan, it's fine. It's going to fall through and you know it. You guys don't know shit about hunters. You really think his dad won't find a way around it? You're a fucking joke. Stop it. You know I'm right, so accept it. Fuck you.

"Sung- hey, why are you frowning?" Minho comes in, hair sticking out messily.

I shake my head, setting my phone back on the nightstand. The bed creaks when I get off of it, being relieved from my weight. I stretch my arms above my head, walking forward to hug him.

"Nothing, just thinking. I have something to tell you guys over dinner," I mention, waddling us out of the room and into the open area where Chan was reading.

Minho leans down to kiss my forehead, scratching my back lightly. "That's what I was coming in to ask you. What do you want for dinner?"

"Something easy, like lazy noodles. It'll only take fifteen minutes." I had read about lazy noodles when I was looking for an easy beef recipe. I wasn't really expecting it, but the first time I made it, it was really good. It was quick and easy, hence it being called lazy.

"Sounds good. I'll go start cooking the meat. Channie, wanna help?"

I watch as Chan ignores the question, confused as to why he wasn't answering. Was his book that good that it made him deaf?

"Chan," I call, walking over to see what he was reading. The page was blank. "Christopher."

He snaps his head up, looking around before finding me next to him. "What?"

"What are you reading? There's nothing on the page," I ask. Maybe he was ignoring you for a reason. Stop it, I'm done with you. I'll never leave you alone, Jisung.

"It's not a book for mortals. It was made specifically for demons and witches so that mortals wouldn't be able to use it against us."

"Oh, that's smart. What was it saying?"

"Just some spells to hide our true identity. It should help with the dinner. I called Tzuyu and she sent this over for me to read since she's going out of town. She did say there's one for the demon trap, but I haven't found it yet."

"What about the one for holy water?"

"It's in one of the first chapters."

"That's good. Is there anything super important that we have to get for it? Something rare or the blood of a minotaur?"

He bunches his eyebrows together, questioning me. "I saw it on a tv show," I shrug, looking back at Minho who had sat himself on the floor and was itching behind his ear.

"Um, okay," he smiles, shaking his head. "Just a few different fluids and powders. It's a common spell, so there's not much to it."

"Alright. So now that we have that covered, can we make some dinner?"
