Clary's pov

The next morning I was sitting at the kitchen table with my mother and Luke eating breakfast, before school.

"How was your date with Sebastian yesterday?" My mother asked.

I blushed. "It was good."

"Did you kiss him?" My mother smirked.

"Mom!" I whined and she laughed.

"Oh! I have news to tell you." She said. "Celine called yesterday while you were out, and she invited us, the Lightwoods, and the Morgensterns to come with them to their cabin for a few days. So all of you will be missing some school." My mom finished.

I froze, spending a few days with Sebastian and Jace?

"What?" I said shocked. "Are we going to go?"

"Luke and I have discussed it, and we decided that we are going to go. Is that okay Clary?" My mother asked.

"Um that's fine." I mumbled. "I have to get school now. I think Simons here."

About half an hour later I was sitting in English class waiting for class to start. Sebastian and Jace walked in and both came and took their seats on either sides of me.

"Looks like we're all going on a vacation together Red." Jace said to me while smirking, and I just rolled my eyes.

"Don't worry. We can just ditch him in the woods and pretend we didn't know." Sebastian says with a cheeky smile.

"Hey I heard that." Jace says and Sebastian and I laugh.

"Where are we even going to?" I ask the both of them.

"To my cabin by this Lake three hours away." Jace says.

"All of our families go every year. Looks like your being added to the tradition." Sebastian says with a grin.

Class started and about halfway through it, a note landed on my desk.

Can I talk to you after school?

I look up to see Jace staring at me. I nod my head and he gives me a nervous look, and then looks forward again. Oh no, I thought what did he need to tell me?

The day went by fast and before I knew it, I was standing outside waiting for Jace. A billion thoughts ran through my mind. What if he had to tell me something horrible? Based on the look he gave me in English it didn't seem like good news.

"Clary what are you doing out here?" Sebastian said.

"Oh um I'm waiting for Jace. He said he needed to talk to me." I said.

"What a coincidence I was just going to ask you if I could talk to you. Can you meet me at Starbucks after your done?" He asked nervously.

"Sure." I said with a grin and then he left.

"Clary." Jace said as he walks out from the school.

"Hey. You needed to talk to me?" I asked.

"Um ye-yeah." He stuttered. What? Jace never stutters.

We went and sat down on a bench and he started to talk.

"Clary, I think I'm in love with you." He said and I froze.

So my mother was right, Jace loved me.

"I think I've loved you ever since that first day in English. That's why I was so against you kissing Sebastian at his party." Jace kept saying nervously.

I just sat there frozen still.

"I know that this is really sudden but it's what I want." He rambled on. "What I'm trying to say is, Clary, will you be my girlfriend?"

I almost blacked out. Me his girlfriend? Yes I loved him but I also loved Sebastian.

I cleared my throat. "Can I have some time to think about it?" I asked hoarsely.

Jace nodded his head. "Yes of course."

I stood up. "I-I think I'm gonna go." I said and without thinking I kissed him on the cheek and left.
