Clary's pov
Later that evening we all decided to have a campfire. My mother and Celine got marshmallows and graham crackers so we could have s'mores. Luke and Valentine started the fire and we all sat around it.
Somehow I found myself sitting between Sebastian and Jace. My mother wouldn't stop smirking at me, and I kept glaring at her. It was quite awkward I had caught Valentine staring my mother a few times, and it kind of grossed me out a bit.
"I remember the first time I came here with Jace's family." Sebastian said randomly.
"How old were you?" I asked.
"Five. I remember we had a water fight with Alec and Isabelle, and Celine got so angry because we had gotten water all in the cabin." Sebastian chuckled.
"I remember that." Jace said with a grin. " I also remember when you had a crush on that girl we saw walking on one of the trails in the forest." He finished with a smirk.
Sebastian turned red. "I was ten okay."
"You should have seen him." Isabelle said. "He followed her for an hour and then he got lost in the forest, and we all had to come looking for him."
We all laughed and Sebastian just turned more red. Isabelle then started telling stories about their memories here, and I couldn't help but smile at them. About a half an hour later all the adults decided to go to sleep, so it was just me Alec, Isabelle, Jace, and Sebastian.
" I have the best idea." Sebastian said with a smirk on his face. "Let's play hide and seek outside."
"Now? But it's so dark out." Alec said.
"That's what makes it fun." Jace said. "I'll play."
Eventually everyone agreed to play. Alec volunteered to be it and we all got ready to to hide.
"Ok ready?" Alec said and we all nodded. "Ok 1..2..3" he started counting and we all ran.
I ran to the forest, to this tree that had fallen over and hid behind it. About five minutes later I heard someone coming. Please not Alec I thought.
"Red?" Jace said and he shined his flashlight at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him while standing up.
"I heard Alec coming to my hiding place so I ran, and I followed the trail and it lead me here." He said simply.
We were silent for a moment and then Jace suddenly spoke.
"Have you decided yet?" He asked quickly.
I frowned. "No. I'm sorry Jace, I just can't decide. I'm so afraid of making the wrong decision and-"
"Hey, its fine Clary." Jace said while tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
I looked up at him. His golden eyes almost seemed to chase the darkness away. He was smiling a bit, and he was staring into my eyes.
Suddenly I decided on my side of the bet.
"Jace I decided what you have to do for me." I said to him.
"What?" He asked amused.
"Kiss me." I breathed and he looked surprised.
"Clary are you sure-"
I cut him off by pressing my lips to his. He immediately kissed me back, and put his hands around my waist. My arms went around his neck, and I melted into the kiss. About thirty seconds later we were interrupted.
"Ha! Found you guys-oh." Alec said appearing in front of us.
Jace and I sprang apart, looking embarrassed.
"Well you guys are it." Alec said and he walked away.
I looked at Jace and started laughing, a second later he joined me and before I knew it we were both on the ground laughing.
"What are we even laughing?" Jace said between laughs.
"I don't even know." I said catching my breath.
After we both stopped laughing, we walked back to the cabin. We stopped outside my room and I turned to face him.
"Goodnight Jace." I said softly.
"Goodnight Clary." He said and he kissed me on the cheek and left.
