Chapter 28 (Baby Shower & Bad Luck)

The next morning Amanda and I met up at the venue for Jane's big day making sure that every detail was perfect. We found out that she would be having a baby boy and I was ecstatic even though I only knew her for a couple of months now she was close to me, Amanda met her the day she was in the office and told me she would help me with the baby shower, the caterers arrived just after we did the last of the tables
"Hey guys you can put all of those right here" I said pointing to the table next to me as they walked up to me
"Yes mam" the one replied

When the afternoon came, the place was already packed with women I met all of them and chatted knowing how each one of them met Jane, it was then I only found out that I was the closest best friend she had and it lit up my day, turns out Jane didn't have a mother but only a father in which they visited over the weekends and some holidays, I also got the meet Jason Jane's husbands mother and she was something.

After a while Amanda came running to me
"They are here" and I smiled
"Okay guys get ready the soon to be mom has arrived" I yelled as all the women was standing still waiting for her appearance

"Jason what are we doing here?" we heard Jane say just when she entered

"Congratulations!" we yelled and she held her heart and baby bump astonished at what was in front of her then she started to cry
"Oh my God" she sobbed and I went to her side
"Hey don't cry" I said as she looked at me and then at everyone else
"No I'm crying because of happiness and because my emotions are such a mess" she said wiping her tears

"This is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me" she said again as al the ladies 'awed'
"Well today is all about you" I told her placing soon to be mom sachet over her shoulders
"Don't tell me Jason was also keeping this from me?" she asked me and we laughed
"Sorry my dear Jane but this was all Alex I only helped with the family and friends part" he replied giving her a kiss
"I love you guys" Jane said again
"I couldn't have done this without Amanda's help also" I said as Jane also gave Amanda a hug
"Thank you this really means the world to us" Jane replied again

"Well then let's get the party started" Amanda yelled also tearing up
Jane said goodbye to her husband and thanked me again then we started the whole charade

From guessing games, to diaper games, Jane was in her element but she was happy, we gave her orange juice instead of wine and champagne.
"Gosh guys you don't know how I miss my wine" she replied as all the ladies laughed
"Well after you pop that one out we will have a huge wine tasting" Jason's mom replied and we all cheered to that

It was going great Jane loved every second of it we played games, ate food, she opened presents when we all made jokes and awed at the most adorable clothes and then the cake arrived. She had a lot of emotions and sometimes had us all in tears but it was really fun and good to see her happy
"Speech" everyone yelled to Jane as she stood up with her belly

"Okay" she said while everyone quieted down
"I have so many things to say but first I want to talk each and every one of you for being here and to celebrate me becoming a mom, at first I was really afraid but now I cannot wait to be a mother as for Jason he is more excited about all of this making sure I was okay with everything. Gosh I cannot express the way I am feeling to have such wonderful and supportive people in my life, mother in law thank you for bringing such a great son in the world" she held up her glass to Jason's mom as we all sheered
"And I want to give all my thanks to Alex and Amanda you guys really are awesome, especially for doing this I will never know a way to thank you enough so thank you to you both hell one of these days Alex here will not just be my best friend but maybe my second boss to" she laughed and I blushed as everyone congratulated her

After her whole speech we drank and ate again, just having more fun when it was getting later people started to leave and Jason her husband came in to help is pack up all the presents and clean up
