Jeongguk

Seems she made a new friend, Her smile was there the whole time when she was on her way home. How precious. I was hiding behind the trees, wearing a black cap and a black hoodie with black jeans. A black boot too. A call came and I picked it up.

"good job." Nathan says.

"thanks, but what did you really call for?"

"I want you to research Angelina and Lendas new apartment, it should be in good shape and close to her college."

"okay, I will do so."

"by the way, how was she? Did she get hurt? I think I have to stop her-"

"don't. She is happy. Damn, her smile even lights her way. You should see her, Nathan."

"alright. I will trust you on this." he says.

"remember, this is now my extra job."

"I think you should stop the other job. Before it gets too out of hand. Don't you think?"

"no, I don't think so. Please don't interfere with my life." I say.

"Okay, okay. I won't. But my daughter is having a bodyguard spy on her which her father agrees to his deal, don't you think I have the right to know? " he sounds angry over the line.

" you will know everything once you get that man into my hands." I say before ending the line. Nathan probably thinks he was stupid to trust me. But I'm not that bad. I slide my phone into my jeans pocket and walk out of here. Yeah, not that bad.

Angelina

"Your father wants us to move out from here." Lenda says. We were having dinner.

"Ah, really? To where exactly?"

"don't know where yet. He is still searching." she says taking a bite of the food.

" I see, so we aren't going back to the other one?" I was a bit sad.

"Unfortunately, no." she says. I nod. "but we are still keeping it."

"hopefully our new home will be nice and make it warm as we always do." I said, making her smile.

"indeed."

Jumping on the bed after the dinner. Taking the phone and start punching Jains number on the screen. After she answered, we talked awkwardly at first but then later on we were comfortable with each other and I'm thankful for that.

"it was hilarious how the ball hit you today." she said it straight. Yup, she saw it. I closed my eyes tightly.

"yeah… I prayed for the ground to swallow me when it happened." Suddenly her hilarious laugh went through my ears, making me smile. "so embarrassing!" I squeeze my pillow on my face. Her laughs kept on going.

"oh, my God! I'm so sorry! I have been holding on to this for so long I can't stop!" she was laughing hard. "it's understandable, you would just wish to disappear after something funny happens."

One week later

"why are they looking at us?" I asked Jain who kept her head low. Not answering me.

I went to the restroom to see some group of girls there.

"hey, you are Angelina. Right?" I nod my head slowly. Then another girl starts talking.

"I heard some rumors about you and Jain being friends. True?"

"yes, we are friends for now. Why asking?" I said. Then the third girl spoke.

"we believed the rumors which says, she was a bully and had beaten someone at her old school." I heating up. Feeling the goosebumps running down my skin. She what? It's only a rumor, Angie. No, I shouldn't believe what I haven't seen or heard from her.

" bonus, she is a freak. Don't be with her. She might get yourself killed." a friend behind her giggled a faithful one.

" even her old school says it was true. We went there and asked." the first spoke. I excused myself and went out from there.

"hey, what took you so long?" Jain asked after I went to sit beside her in the park.

"how long will you be open minded with me?" I asked, staring straight at her.

"as long as I feel like I can trust you." she says.

"alright. I will show you that I'm safe." but am I really safe? I told her before taking her hand in mine and walked to where I wanted her to be. Angie, what are you doing! Didn't you just hear what those chicks said!? I ignored my thoughts and kept on walking. "sit." I made her sit down on the bench, "And wait." I said before walking to the ice cream van.

"Uhm, what are you doing?" she says, confusing.

"here." I gave her ice cream and sat beside her, starting with mine already.

"I don't really like ice cream."

"you have to like it now, to find something interesting there." I said, keep on licking mine. She started to lick hers as I smiled.

"I got mine. I will wait for you to get one." I took out the plastic paper quotes and hid it with my palm.

"woah, is there something inside?" she says, peeking inside her cream. She took it out and read it. And I only waited to see her reaction.

"so, what did you get?" her tears start to overflow. I flinched a bit and patted her back gently.

"It's beautiful, Angie. I don't know what to say." She showed me her quotes.

One day you'll just be a memory to some people. Do your best to be a good one.

"That's a really good quote!" I said.

"why did you do this?" she says pleading.

"because I want you to know I'm a safe friend that loves those basic things." she smiled and hugged me.

"you are."

It was late at night. We spend our time together. And she is different. Impossible if she is like what those girls said to me. And I never brought up that topic to her. At least Not now. Even after one week, we would be only normal, but now we made it extra. A drop of water came on my nose. I ignored it and took out the quotes which I had forgotten about. And start to read it.

I wanna be the girl who makes your bad days better, the one that makes you say, "my life has changed since I met her."

Jeongguk, I wonder, have I changed you, perhaps? Being under the rain, letting them hit me softly. The fresh cold ran across me. The rain has gotten hard. I'm still standing under the pouring rain.

No matter what happens, your moments will get back to happiness.

That's what mom told me in my last dream. Closing my eyes gently, breathing the fresh cold air, letting every drop on me. Will I really get my happiness?
