Chapter 9

"Let me." he walks behind me. "could you move your hair to the other side?" he ordered. Without saying anything I moved my hair to my side. Letting him place the necklace around my neck. My heart wouldn't stop beating. I slightly flinched at his soft touch on my back. My face was already heated up. I could literally fall at any time. " You look like a lady now." he speaks from behind. I rolled my eyes.

"I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not." he walked in front, giving me his brows up. "I will take that as a compliment, Jeon." I told him with my silly smile before walking off to the door.

"Here am I." said granny fasting her steps over to us. "let's go!"

"hello, mom." I crouched to touch her grave. No time to cry now. I need to pull myself together. I smiled, placing the roses on the grave. Granny was silently tearing. We sat on the grass beside the grave, Granny got some sweet candies for us to eat. Although, Jeongguk refused to sit down with us. He wanted to stay standing.

"nice color, huh?" Granny told me looking at the colors of all types of candy. I nodded smiling. Grannys smile disappeared, looking behind me. I frown looking behind me, seeing my father walking to us. I stood up to greet him. He stopped at the distance, staring me with his small smile. And came closer.

"for a second I thought you were, Mirena." said father coming for a hug. Indeed I hugged him back. This day was a great day with father and granny. Jeongguk kept his distance from us. But still watching me. Damn, his eyes makes me nervous.

"Jeongguk, why don't you sit?" I told him. Father looks at me.

"finally getting along with him, huh?" I stared at my father for a while. Realized how I have been acting towards him. "you are being nice to him." My eyes got wide.

"what? Am I?" I asked still shocked. He laughed with Lenda, nodding his head.

"yeah. But, I'm glad." he stared at Jeongguk and gave him a smile, showing his teeth. He even knows Jeongguk wouldn't give the smile back. Suddenly father stood up, "I have to get to work. I only took two hours break. See you soon." he kissed my forehead and touched mother's grave with his sad smile. "wait for me." he said before walking away. Father won't give up until he finds the people who murdered her. After for a while we got up and leave to go home. Granny got inside the house as I didn't wanted to go home now. I told Jeongguk to take me to the beach. And he did. Without a car this time.

"this is peaceful. Isn't it?" I said looking at him who is sitting on the bench beside me. He nods moving his head to me.

"your personality is lovely, Angie." he told me for the first time. My face got softer and the butterflies inside my stomach won't stop dancing during my heartbeat. I felt my cheek heated up. I got goosebumps at my suddenly imagination. He called me, Angie.

" thank you... You too. " me and him knows deep down I'm lying. He chuckles. My eyes running up to see his teeth. "you should smile often. It suits you better than your suit." he chuckles again. Making my heart go crazy. What's wrong with me?

"was this suppose to be some quote?" he said turning his eyes on me.

"kinda?" I said still staring at him. I heard the ice cream music behind us. I stood up with Jeongguk following me. I walked over to the ice cream van.

"hello my sweethearts!" the old man spoke as he saw us. I only smiled at him.

"hello to you, too. I want chocolate and vanilla." I said my flavors and waited for Jeongguks. He shakes his head not wanted to. "come on?" I muttered at him with my begging eyes. He sigh and told his flavors.
