He was staring at me, clenching his teeth. Tell me, Jeongguk.
"yeah..." good, say more! "it was Nathan's command–" wait what?
"no!" that's not what I wanted to hear... "ahem! I mean, which commands?" he was staring at me for a while.
"I obeyed your father's command that I took you here with me, Angelina."
"no surprise–"
"I'm serious–"
"I'm dead serious, too, Jeongguk. You said it wasn't his orders but, woaw, you lied!"
"I apologize for that. I had no choice, known you would get sad." well, I did get sad. "but, taking you here to my home, was really by my own will. Trust me."
"I trust you." I say, and I realize that I'm lying too. "no, sorry, I don't. In fact I realize; I have never really earned your trust fully yet." he doesn't say anything and he can only see my hurtful facial expression.
"you have found out." he whispers. I pleaded, looking at his eyes.
"Jeongguk, who are you?" it looked like he stopped moving. He was still staring at me, but in another way of looking. More like he doesn't want me to know. His expression was hard to explain.
"you found out." he says again. He stands up, still looking at me.
"more like someone told me–"
"who?" he was angry. I don't speak. "who told you?" he says again, bending down towards me, his face close to mine.
"just s–someone."
"you don't wanna say who. Was it Taehyung?" I shake my head. "Seok... jin?" I shake my head again. He gets up. "only six people knows about it, it can't be your father, or else I will kill him–"
"No!" I flinched, standing up, his eyes down on me. "Don't say that!" he relaxed his shoulders. Now he knows it was my father who told me.
"I see. How long have you known?"
"long enough."
"and you said nothing." he nods. He goes away, upstairs, I heard some loud noises like he was rifling throughout. His loud heavy footsteps was coming towards me with a file. He rifle through the file and gets a paper out and threw the file on the table, showing me the paper.
It was his signature... On an assassin's resign paper.
"yes, I know. That's who you are. You accepted this long ago– you were like fifteen?" I look at him when I reread the paper. Yes, he was so young when he accepted this.
"that's right. That's who I'm." his voice were sorrowful. He drags me to the door after putting the paper away.
"wait! Let's talk about it." he swung me around to face him in front of him while his hand, forcibly, grabbing mine.
"what's there to talk about, huh?" he frowned. "you knew and said nothing! You were actually scared of me, but didn't show it! Neither have you ran away or done something foolish."
"that's becaus–"
"somethings wrong?" the wife of the uncle asked. Her husband beside her with his worried face.
"she knows." Jeongguk says, still staring at me. And still continued to stare at me. "because of what? Say it."
"you already know."
"no, I don't. Get to it."
"I have fallen for you, Jeongguk." I closed my eyes so tightly. From shame, or either from pain. "I... I know you have told me not to fall for you, but I couldn't stop it–couldn't help it. It was hard..." my voice goes lower and lower. "it was difficult for me not to fall for you." my tears start to run with my cracked tone. "I'm sorry." he was squeezing too harsh on my wrist. He was frowning, looking disappointed, with low open mouthed.
