3.4 Life

I walk back into the restaurant with Prim close behind me,

"Hadley," I smile walking over to the table, she looks at me and her face falls from her perfect smile.

"Mummy? Why are you crying?"

"Don't worry, come on it's time to go. Did you thank everyone?"

"Yes," She says walking over to me, I look at everyone as they stare at me.

"Emmi-,"

"Call me Zoe," I tell her, everyone raises their eyes,

"You like the wedding dress we designed? It's yours," I tell her,

"Wha-?"

"There's not point having a wedding dress when your fiance cheats," I tell her before walking out of the restaurant with Hadley in my arms and Prim behind me.

"Zoe," Calum says running out of the restaurant, I look at him as Prim takes Hadley in her arms to put her in her seat.

"What?"

"I'm sorry," He whispers, I nod my head.

"It's fine. I shouldn't have been so secretive."

"Is that his excuse?"

"Yes."

"It's bullshit."

"Thanks Calum, but you don't know anything about mine and Alec's relationship. We haven't saw each other for 5 years."

"I wanted to."

"Yes I get it okay? I pushed you away, I pushed you all away."

"You didn't push me away, I'm here if you need me."

"Thanks," I whisper getting into my car.

"If you ever need me to look after Had, I will," He tells me before I shut the door.

"Thanks," I smile. He walks closer so he could whisper.

"I know you and I had Hadley, but Luke. Luke still loves you."

"Calum."

"Listen to me Zoe Page, Emmi James, whatever name you're going by. I could love you but I could never love you as much as that boy does in there. Who was there when you found you were pregnant? Luke. Who helped you through everything? Luke. Who continued to love you, even when you weren't there, even when you left? Luke did."

"He deserves better."

"He deserves what he wants, and he wants you," He tells me. I look at him and shake my head at him.

"He doesn't want me."

"Trust me, he does. He helped me with Hadley today, she started crying for you but as soon as she saw Luke, something changed. She stopped crying and she asked him to play some princess game with her."

"Zoe," Luke says running out of the restaurant, Calum looks at me and smiles before walking back into the restaurant, patting Luke on the back beforehand.

"Luke," I say shutting the car door so Prim and Hadley couldn't hear the conversation.

"I know you and Alec just split, but I love you."

"You love me?"

"Even after you left, after everything I still wake up in the morning thinking about you and I go to sleep thinking about you," He says. 

I look at him and wipe the tear from my eye.

"You deserve better," I whisper.

"You deserve better, that's all I hear from you. I don't deserve better, I want you and no-one but you," He tells me. I run my hand through my hair and open the car door.

"I'm sorry," I whisper to him. 

He stands on the pathway as I drive away with Prim looking at me.

"He loves you," Prim says.

"That's what they all say."

"He. Truly. Loves. You," Prim tells me harshly, I look at her in the mirror.

"I need time," I say.
