How were you supposed to tell him? He hadn't been happy recently - what with the band breaking up due to marriages and kids and broken down cars when it had just recently started up again. After the big fashion show/wedding, the boys were contacted by a record label and they agreed to start working on some music. Their first album did well, so did their second but when it came to their third album - well it never got finished for it to be considered an album.
"Zoe!" he shouts snapping me out of my daydream.
"Hmm?" I hum.
"Have you heard from Hadley?" he asks slowly, showing that he had asked it more than once.
"She's out with her friends."
"What friends?" he asks.
"Her school friends Luke," I answer standing up to put my plate in the sink.
"Vale?" he asks.
"Yes and others."
"What's others?" he asks.
"Oh for God's sake Luke, if you knew she was out with a boy why are you questioning me?!" you shout.
"I want to know why she told you and not me?"
"Because I'm her mum and she knew you would overreact."
"I'm not over-reacting," he says.
I raise my eyebrow at him and groans, "Okay maybe a little bit."
"Yeah," you laugh turning back around to finish washing the plate, "She's old enough Luke. She's 15."
"That's still young."
"I went on my first date when I was 14," you frown turning to face him.
"She's just getting older," he sighs and you realise that this isn't about her going on a date.
"Are you sad because you missed out on a lot?" you ask him turning around and crossing your arms, looking at him with intrigue.
"Don't get me wrong, I love the years I've spent with her but I just wish I'd been there from day one, from the first hour, minute, second," he lists.
You laugh, "I get it."
"But now we're too old," he mumbles.
"We're thirty-three!" you laugh, "Some people only start having kids now."
"So you're saying?" he asks.
You roll your eyes at him and let out a sigh, "You're lucky I'm letting that old comment slide."
"Why?"
"Because there's something I've been meaning to tell you," you say walking to the kitchen drawer and handing him a picture.
"How long have you known?" he asks smiling at it.
"Couple of weeks."
"What?!"
"I wanted to wait till I was three months," you defend.
"Three months is when you tell your family and friends, not your husband!"
"You're not my husband, you're my boyfriend," you remind.
"Well, we're practically husband and wife."
"Practically," you laugh.
"We're having a baby?" he smiles.
"We're having a baby," you smile at him.
"And we're getting married."
"What?"
"You see, while you've been hiding this, I've been hiding an engagement ring."
"Why are we such messes?" you ask laughing.
"A teenage daughter and a crazy group of friends," he answers.
You smile at him and shake your head, "I love you."
"I love you too."

an alternate ending a year after the story was supposed to finish (sorry!!). looking back on the epilogue i hated it, it was rushed and tbh just really bad (not that this is much better!). anyway hope you've enjoyed the story, and that you've enjoyed this somewhat better ending.
if you are interested in seeing any more of my writing i have a Tumblr account (pfftclifford) with just over 100 pieces of writing, as well as a few series and some extremely disappointing smuts. i do requests from time to time and talk about my life in far too much detail, so you know there's that.
i mainly write on Tumblr nowadays and i'm most like to answer any questions you have on it, so you know if you have a question and want a super fast reply ---> pfftclifford.tumblr.com/ask
self-promo aside thank you for reading and helping it get to 60k (that is a crazy number!), love you guys and thank you for sticking to the end (even though it's shit - i lost interest).
