Everyone was silent. Sokka was sharpening his club, and Aang looked totally out of it as they soared above a swamp. They were slowly soaring further down towards it.

"Hey, you taking us down for a reason?" Sokka asked Aang, crawling to the front of the saddle.

Aang didn't respond.

"Aang? Hello? We're going down." (Y/n) leaned down to tap his shoulder.

Aang shook his head a little. "What? I didn't even notice." Aang rubbed his eyes as they continued to slowly fly down.

"Are you noticing now?" Sokka asked.

"I know this is gonna sound weird, but I think the swamp is calling to me."

"Is it telling you where we can get something to eat?" Sokka asked, putting a hand to his belly.

"No, I...I think it wants us to land there."

The closer they got to the swamp, the more uncomfortable everyone got. (Y/n) felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, like someone was behind her; watching her. Appa and Momo both made protestant noises, so Aang decided that there would be no swamp action for them today.

Unfortunately, the universe had other plans for them.

They turned to the sound of rumbling behind them, and saw a huge tornado barrelling towards them.

"We gotta move!" Sokka urged.

Aang tried to weave Appa away from the tornado's path, but it seemed to be following them intently. Appa struggled to get out of the tornados pull, so Aang airbended a sphere of air around them to protect them as they flew into the tornado. It was too much for him to bear, and the sphere disappeared.

(Y/n) screamed as her body was flown around in the tornado, and she only saw flashes of orange and blue as she flew through the air, and into the swamp.

She sat up in the water, and choked on some that had she had accidentally swallowed.

Sokka, Katara, and Aang as stood up around her. Everyone looked around them. It was dark, green, and wet as far as they could see.

"Where's Appa and Momo?" Aang asked.

He jumped up into the trees to get a better view of the area.

While Aang did that, Sokka overreacted about a leech on his elbow, then threw it in (Y/n)'s direction. She moved out of the way, and it narrowly avoided her face. She shot a glare at Sokka, and he winced, mouthing "sorry" to her.

Aang swung on a vine back down to them. He couldn't find their animals, and the tornado had just disappeared.

They didn't know where to go, or what to do. Without knowing where Appa and Momo were, what direction were they supposed to go in?

"Let's speed things up." Sokka said, slicing through vines with a machete.

"Maybe we should be a little nicer to the swamp." Aang suggested.

"Aang, these are just plants. Do you want me to say 'please' and 'thank you' as I swing my machete back and forth?" Sokka said, continuing to aggressively swing the weapon at the plants.

"Manners could do you some good, big guy," (Y/n) whispered to Sokka. "This is Avatar stuff, after all."

They didn't have any other plan, so they all let Sokka cut his way through the foliage. They were getting nowhere near their animals, but they kept calling out for them in case they heard any noises. It was getting darker, and they were having no luck.
